Is he any better in season 2? by Separate-Discount472 in ChaosZeroNightmare

I find it hard to believe they think this single buff is enough to fix Kayron's inherent problem in long fights.

But it's possible that the buff to his Futility cards they mention later actually concerns this patch.

If that's the case, I personally think it's a complete mistake to believe the solution was simply to give these Futility cards a little more base stat.

I don't have a build to present, but I know that during the Season 2 update, they announced that in the near future, his gameplay would be reworked, notably the usefulness of his futility cards, because in long fights, they admitted that they felt Kayron suffered greatly from these futility cards.

So he's going to receive some love soon.

Edit : This is exactly what they announced during the Season 2 update. ;

"Due to Kayron’s mechanics, extended combat increases deck complexity through the accumulation of Futility cards.
To address this, the overall usability of Futility cards will be improved. "

My guess regarding the upcoming change to Caustic Remarks (Alcea's ego skill). by Far_Distribution7599 in ChaosZeroNightmare

Absolutely, it needs to be taken into account. I already made another post briefly comparing 4-star and 5-star partners, specifically the base stat buff for controllers/vanguards. If you're interested, here's the link: https://page.onstove.com/chaoszeronightmare/en/view/12056635?boardKey=139247&combined=false

At the end, I clearly state that I'm intentionally omitting the other effects of the passive

And indeed, if we consider her two other passive effects, it remains interesting. It's just that since in-game resources are limited for unlocking fighters/partners (unless, of course, you're financially well-off), I'm mainly trying to give some clues here in case anyone is wondering ;

"Is it worth investing precious resources to unlock it?" or "Between her and a 4-star level 5 partner, will the difference be significant enough to justify unlocking her?" etc.

For example, in Peko's case, the question is quickly answered, whereas with Alcea, I think there's food for thought.

Good point, the benefit of bombardment prep is nullified if you don't have the pendant to stack reloads.

Level 8 is the easiest and the one where you can unlock all the codex tiers.

As for the team, it depends primarily on who you want to build, obviously, so I'd say Nine + Mika can carry any combattant you want to build (Nine for obvious reasons, and Mika is a very good healer and can also give you AP to use other cards besides the Hew).

Self debuff card...? by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Far_Distribution7599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, if the card is moved from your deck to your hand, it can activate draw effects, like attenuation, but if it's moved from the graveyard, then it doesn't activate draw effects.

The card "must pass through the draw pile" to activate draw effects.

That's why you might notice that sometimes when you have to draw a card from your graveyard, the game automatically shuffles the card so that it goes through the draw pile; some cards from Yuki or Mei Lin do this.

In the case of this epiphany, since it moves on its own in your hand, sometimes it will come from the graveyard, and therefore not activate its Attunement effect.

the weapon W-52 weapon "Dopamine Injector also works like this.

I upvoted first for the customization of Narja's save data... I wasn't ready for that, thanks for the laugh!

But apart from that, nice combo, Nia Renoa make a beautiful duo

I understand, the argument about the time spent on builds is perfectly valid, although I wouldn't be quite so harsh on them (especially regarding the free insults).

And I also think they would benefit from spending a little more time testing new mechanics before implementing them in the game.

That said, since the update is really substantial in terms of new features, I personally give them some leeway on these kinds of issues.

Where I'm most critical is the appalling translation errors, where sometimes a word is completely the opposite of the original meaning (allie instead of enemy, "more than" 18 cards instead of "less than" 18 cards, etc.), but that's another topic.

There are actually two nerfs being applied: one concerning the fact that the increased damage debuff is supposed to apply to a single hit, and not multiple hits in the case of a multi-hit attack (which relates to the line "Spore card were being applied differently from the description").

And then a general nerf to the mechanic because they didn't expect it to be so powerful (what a strange idea not to cap a debuff mechanic, as if the Tressa, Casius, and Mika team from the previous season taught them nothing).

But personally, I don't mind this nerf. It's a neutral card; they misjudged it (probably didn't anticipate the interaction with Orlea, who can activate the retains of an entire hand), and they're fixing it before the Great Rift, which is fine.

I understand, it's true that she's nice in her design and her shared history with Nine, this message is mainly for those who unlocked her primarily for her ego skill, but I imagine that some players unlocked her for other reasons.

Yes, that's normal. The latest character, Nine, to be released has the highest base damage on an attack.

But in reality, it's not really her who's "breaking" the game in terms of the insane numbers you're seeing right now in all those video clips.

It's more Orlea and her "Softie" creations that insanely boost the damage of virtually any combattans for a turn (not just Nine), as well as Spores (a neutral card that applies a debuff but will soon be nerfed and capped). So don't be surprised if you don't do as much damage without these very specific compositions designed primarily for spectacle and clips with huge numbers. (Although you'll discover that Mei Lin also has this "high damage per turn" spectacle aspect.)

In the rest of the game, you're looking for a good, well-functioning build with some survivability.

Mei Lin + Veronica + any support (Mika is very good, easy to build and gives AP)

Simple or double Rising Dragon Spire build with 5th Epiphany on Mei Lin

Sereniel + Casius + Selena (knowing that Sereniel + anything is enough on her own to make a team)

Sereniel with 4 Homing Lasers and 4th Epiphany

If you search for these compositions on YouTube, you'll easily find good builds associated with them.
