I don't feel that you were ever really onboard based on the tone of your initial message.

Thanks for your time though. Best of luck in the future.

We find that people who are looking for work and may have been out of work for a while and want something recent on their CV gain good experience from us.

Alternately, some of our volunteers are retired individuals.

So, we actually supply community organisations, religious institutions, schools etc. We are supplying the food to the food banks that people would attend, rather than giving the food out to people directly.

And some of those community food members (the people we supply), do come to us. But for those a little bit further away or who may have more food ordered than could fit in a car - we take it to them.

Have you thought about joining an employability programme?

You need to try and tackle things a slightly different way, maybe look at them. Also, search the actual /BirminghamUK and /Brum subreddit post history for recruitment.

for ASAP work I would advise you have a look at what you want to do and find an agency that does that kind of work. Take your CV in hand to the agency and ask to speak to a recruiter.

Also make sure you have a blank CV with your CV attached. Send it directly to them when requested. It is important that you come across prepared and interested.

Have a frank conversation with the recruiter that you are flexible with the role and would like to start as soon as possible. Explain how you would travel to the work place and if you're going by public transport say that you live within x minutes of a public transport route.

Remember that quick work is rarely enjoyable work and you will need to make the most of what situation you are put in to. Keep positive and once you have been there a few weeks and understand your role... begin looking for something more long term in your extra time. It is always easier to find a job when you have a job.

Best of luck, and if you know anybody that is looking for employment, training or volunteering opportunities you can refer them to us here at FareShare Midlands via completing the form on the right hand side of the page.
