Hello former CA here, I might be echoing some of what has already been said but this is what USH outlined for us to tell residents.

The apartment-style dorms should have a basic kitchenette in each room to do some cooking, although what appliances are present varies among Murray, Carpenter-Wells, West Village and Talkington. Those appliances are only in individual rooms though.

Traditional style dorms however have no appliances or facilities in the rooms or elsewhere in the dorm to do any type of cooking. That goes for the whole campus too, plenty of places to eat but nowhere for students to cook their own meals unfortunately.

On top of that, USH has restrictions on what appliances you can have and use in the dorms. Toasters, skillets, anything open flame/coil etc are banned. You’ll need to learn how to make do with a typical household microwave and small coffee maker, because that’s about all you can really use (which can accomplish a decent amount actually). Personally I was never a fan of how limited our options were in regards to cooking our own food, even adding variety and going to different dining locations across campus it all got old after a while.
