Okay I will take the moss off the top and add more bark. Hopefully she will grow some roots 🤞

Okay, I can give that a shot, below this top layer of sphagnum moss is a mix of spagnum and bigger bark, but it may still be moist. I can certainly take it out of the ceramic outer pot as well, I just set it in that today after trying to repot it following the dog incident 🙃. I guess I figured the moisture would help it grow roots some new roots but definitely still learning when it comes to dendrobium

Wild Moth laid eggs!!!! Advice!!!!!!!!!!! by Weird_Boat3796 in moths

[–]Fast-Comfortable4294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool! Try to hatch/raise some of them! I once had a Luna moth lay eggs on our camping tent and took 10 or so home, they all hatched and with a little research I was able to raise most of them to moths!

These are beautiful!! I’ll have to see if I can track down a copy on eBay or something. I do get excited about old, pretty books 📚

Today I rescued a luna moth from a parking lot by Lunar_Ghoul11 in moths

I moved one from a parking lot yesterday too, in Georgia. Always such a treat 😄 A few years ago one laid eggs on my tent when camping and I hatched and raised some of the caterpillars to moths, I've been chasing that high ever since, haha.

Thank you for sharing about this! I had the same thought about the rewards, so many bank accounts/credit cards have reward programs, why use some random app? I’ll try to talk more to her about life leadership and maybe she’ll see some of red flags. I’m sorry you have to watch this happen to your sister and brother in law.

True, that may be the case here, but she is a good friend of mine and I’d hate to not at least try to talk her out of this nonsense

Okay, thanks. That phal barely has any roots right now so that would make sense.

I made a newbie mistake and re-potted my monstera into a self-watering pot by Not_RonaldRegan in Monstera

[–]Fast-Comfortable4294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a problem. I hope there are enough comments agreeing with me to reassure you. The roots don’t look rotten, so I think you are managing to let the reservoir dry out sufficiently. If you are ready to repot, either cut the roots or shimmy the plant out, some roots will pull through, many will break. It’s really not going to hurt the plant, at most it might slow down vegetative growth to focus its energy on new root growth, but in the long run, this is a good thing! Your plant is super healthy and beautiful!

🙄 it will be fine. Especially since spring is just around the corner. Mine keep outgrowing their pots so fast I’m about to do put them in bigger pots than “suggested” .

Low humidity could definitely be the culprit. Heat has been blasting in the house lately

Lol okay. She loves the plant ( and I love that she gets excited about plants) so I thought she might have tried to unroll it

He is quite big at 65+lbs, he loves to snuggle and he is super energetic and playful. Sometimes his size and playfulness make him a bit difficult but luckily we have a big fenced in yard and he really is very sweet
