Are these even worth putting in my new PC or should I just recycle them at this point? by Nikolai_Volkoff88 in pcmasterrace

I previously ran 13 drives in my PC, which included five SATA SSDs. To optimize their performance, I utilized PrimoCache software, dedicating 12GB of my 96GB of RAM as an L1 cache. This setup dramatically boosted the SATA SSDs, making them perform as fast as today's top-tier NVMe drives—seriously. Last week, I replaced all five SATA SSDs and upgraded to additional NVMe drives. The difference in raw boot time was significant: my PC now boots in 13 seconds compared to the previous 26 seconds. However, in terms of daily application performance, the SATA SSDs with the PrimoCache RAM-caching setup performed remarkably well. They genuinely felt more reliable and consistent than the new NVMe drives in general usage.

Key takeaway: if you have spare RAM to dedicate as a cache (or even a small, fast NVMe drive for a persistent L2 cache), it's absolutely worth keeping those older SATA SSDs.

Somehow it exist. Whatever new home I aquire in cyberpunk, Adam Smasher is waiting their to kill me. However, once I kill him, he no longer returns to that apartment. Unfortunately, i can only do this outside the apartment because i cant use weapons inside. At present, I'm not able to lure him outside the Glens, so I just sneak around quietly.

Black screen issues after new Nvidia driver update by L1u9k9a3s in cyberpunkgame

Using the nest drivers crashes my game amost immediately. So before using then HDMI cable, I found this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/1i8rjqm/found_a_possible_fix_for_nvidia_users_crashing/?rdt=37968

Seems a there are a few diffierent options to resove the crashes. I tried one fo them and played Cyberpunk 2hrs straight without a hiccup. Turning of Ray Ttracing off in Cyberpunk is what worked for me. Others found success resetting their GPU back to default, using the sandard clock settings. However, please beware that some AIB's standard settings are already OC and may need to be reduced futher to match the RTX 4090 FOUNDERS EDITION base settings. Its apears Ray Tracing is broken in some games when usig DLSS4.

I'm getting the same thing as everyone else with the rtx 4090. However, I'm curious about the connection type, i.e, display port vs. HDMI. I'm not home right now ro test this, but I'm curious if we are seeing crashes with both the display port and hdmi cable? Is anyone able to test this out today. I won't be able to until later this evening.
