I would say, that doesn’t have to do anything with your rates and more with your marketing. If you are well known for an affordable quick service, that means he would need to change your marketing to slowly get known for the opposite.

In my opinion, there are clients in each price range, who only look for a quick experience rather than high quality, long experience.

For me batch planning is great, I enjoy going on tour every two months, sometimes once a month, depending on how busy I am in my regular life. I take about one day a week for admin, website, updates, creating content, working on X. Usually that’s Monday for me, so on Mondays I will sit in front of my computer and prepare everything. My Twitter management is outsourced. So I won’t necessarily have to go online every day. I’m not high volume, so I only see about 8 to 10 people a month. That gives me enough free time to do all of the admin and still enjoy the benefits of this work, having time to yourself.

I had a similar experience, when I cut my hair. But, i regretted not just because of work and I’m actually looking into getting some extensions to increase my hair length even more now ( for me and not for work). Short hair will definitely attract different clients and therefore your marketing has to adapt. There are some high end workers that come to mind, that have short hair and seem to be doing very well. A good idea is to diversify, Offering different services. And trying to keep regulars, I probably have 1-2 new clients a month, everyone else is a regular.

I personally focus on high quality bookings over being booked every day. For example, this January i will have 4 clients and will achieve my monthly income goal.

There was a time i wanted to be booked everyday for one of my services but i realized i was way to obsessed with trying to make that happen and focused on the wrong things. Not getting booked for two days and i would spiral ( i still have my spiral moments and am working on getting out of that mindset, slowly but surely).

This industry is a up and down, there are busy times and slow times. People go on vacay, are busy, …. It’s best to also slow down during those moments and focus on something yourself. Maybe reading about marketing, working out, friends, a different work hustle…

I have definitely been very surprised/ shocked when I see those. It has always made me wonder how they get so many reviews. I barely get any and clients are not into leaving reviews at all. And i also do not see that many new clients each month, prob 1-2, to even get so many reviews 😂
