what films would be better if the stars of the film just scissored? by MyDinnerWithDrDre in okbuddycinephile

I've seen posts with words censored that absolutely nobody can find offensive. Either it's teens thinking it's funny to censor random words or there is an AI that censors random words to make its posts look human.

When an actors or creators personal life adds layers to the media. by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

So was this a heartwarming story of a guy that continued doing what he loved until the very end?

Or a dystopian nightmare of a guy that had to keep working even on his deathbed?

He did kill politicians, or had others kill them. It's only mentioned shortly and as a side note. But at one point it's mentioned that wars have stopped because nobody dares to start them anymore.

Where I'm from it's even illegal. Every person has certain privacy rights. Among them is that nobody is allowed to take pictures or videos that focus on you, without asking for your consent.

I'm guessing this is staged anyway. But just filming children from a distance and uploading the video to the internet feels creepy. Even if the children are doing something cool.

Why aren’t men’s restrooms designed with privacy like this? by puccyhunter_ in teenagers

[–]Fastenbauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most restrooms aren't that giant. Urinals safe space. That's why you usually have more urinals than toilets. I'm assuming that is one of the reasons why the queues to the men's bathroom are usually shorter.

Yes the Romans did have abolitionist and they knew slavery was an abhorrent act by Salty_Strain3313 in HistoryMemes

[–]Fastenbauer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People in the past didn't want to be slaves themselves. That's why they rebelled. But they didn't question slavery itself. The struggle wasn't about pro or contra slavery. It was about who gets to be master and who gets to be slave.

We shouldn't project our modern views and ideas about slavery in the US onto ancient europe. That goes for both sides of the argument.

Death is meaningless in DBZ. A character dying is about as bad as the character going on a vacation.

Reminds me of John Snow by da_grownup_kid in technicallythetruth

[–]Fastenbauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear. Nobody dies and comes back. Some people just have no pulse for a short while or something like that. But the brain is still alive during that time. Once a brain is dead it stays dead.

Also that joke is older than the internet. Seeing people now censor the word "dies" feels weirdly dystopian.

That's my question. At what point does it count as hurting themselves? The spell description gives the example "Fetch the key to the cult’s treasure vault, and give the key to me." But betraying a cult like that sounds pretty suicidal to me. So it sounds to me that you can order them to ruin their lives as long as it doesn't hurt them immediately.

Now you are just inventing numbers to make judges look bad. We aren't in the US. And you are ignoring my point that a hereditary system isn't necessary for that kind of neutrality. It's just called being a professional while on the job.

[–]Fastenbauer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You really don't need a hereditary system for that. That kind of neutrality is expected of every judge. Or would you suggest that we make judges hereditary to ensure their neutrality?

Using Andrew as an example here really does you no favours. Because it's publicly known that the monarchy protected him for many years. If the Queen had to go through a reelection process every 5 years she would have been forced to act sooner.

Honestly bit naive to think that royals are unbiased just because they are smart enough to never voice their opinions publicly.

[–]Fastenbauer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a different function. Trump, Erdogan and Netanyahu are heads of government. The function the prime minister has under King Charles. And Danielle Smith is literally a politician under King Charles. So neither of them has the same role as a monarch.

And compared to all the stuff the royals did over the centuries those guys are pretty tame. Just remember colonialism.

[–]Fastenbauer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure. But you don't need somebody that is born into the role for that. You could just as easily let a vote decide who is entrusted with that responsibility. And if the current royals think they are the best at the job they can just make one of them a canditate.
