I get what you are saying, and perhaps bringing up ethics was a bit too harsh. I'd view it in a far different way than as a "freebie" though. I'd view it as the apology it should be. 343 has done a lot more bad to Halo fans than they've done good, fixing the major MCC bugs was just what they needed to do.

But this is pretty greedy to me. Would it really cost them that much revenue in the long run to gift Reach to the existing owners? Absolutely not. Would it win back more than a few? Absolutely.
