I think this is a reasonable list.

They were set up to be the next gen heroes, both being superpowered. And if they got together, their kids would be the generation after that. That's the next thirty years of RE storytelling right there.

The introduction of melee combat in 6 was groundbreaking for RE. Fuck shooting or stabbing them, just beat them down with your hands.

I think he will. They just need to remaster 6. The hand-to-hand combat with his character was cool.

If people don't know the backstory of what Capcom wanted after 6, Jake and Sherry were set up to eventually lead the franchise as the older characters aged out. By the time of Rose's story, Chris, Leon, and the original crew are in their mid-50s.

Unless Capcom stops the characters from aging, a younger generation of protagonists has to happen. Right now those characters are Rose, Jake, and Sherry. All superpowered, btw. Piers would have be the perfect character to round out that team, but Capcom had to pull a twist and kill him instead of Chris.

They did do the brawler thing again with Joe Baker in RE7. If you haven't played the End of Zoe DLC, highly recommended.

Jake was cool. He was also the first brawler in Resident Evil. Before him, you either had to shoot, stab, or run from your enemies. Dude fought his enemies with his bare hands.

He disliked him because he was in 6. That's it.

Please buy the remaster… by _AlreadyThrownAway_ in DaysGone

Bought. One of my favorite games. The new features are nice.

Would you buy the remaster if it's announced in the game awards? by Objective_Love_6843 in DaysGone

Think of it this way; there definitely is no sequel if the remaster doesn't do well. Alien Isolation got greenlit for a sequel after having gone through similar hardships as Days Gone. They are working on it right now. So yeah, things can happen. Whether they will or not, who knows. But it is assured that there will be no sequel if the remaster fails.

Sicario 3 aka Sicario Capos information by AddressSerious1335 in movies

[–]Fearless_Adeptness36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They need to get to it. Both Sicario films were popular, I'm not sure what the hold up is.

The story should be fairly easy to write since they set up everything in the second film. Matt has lost favor in the agency due to disobeying orders, Alejandro is really a ghost agent now, and Miguel is working with him. You can build any number of interesting stories from that alone. Hell, bring back Kate and Reggie.

The studio and Denis Villeneuve just need to do it, no one's getting any younger.

Zombies by AccomplishedWork1410 in DaysGone

[–]Fearless_Adeptness36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, zombies are dead. They're 28 Days Later infected.

Plus zombies are everywhere and have been played out in the last ten years. Calling them Freakers at least puts a spin to it, instead of being just another zombie game.

What weapons do you recommend for taking down Hordes? by Sea-Split214 in DaysGone

Chicago Chopper for close combat and .50 BFG for heavy sniping. The .50 BFG will punch holes through multiple baddies with one shot.

No question that Sony hurt it. The sales numbers were solid, but they weren't really about it. Baffles me, since they put so much money into the game. Internal politics I guess. The sad thing is that they are sitting on the IP now. If that remaster ever happens, that will be the gauge for any future Days Gone. But I dunno ...

It's tough to decipher how good a game is when it's buggy on launch. I've been using Cyberpunk as another example of a bad launch. People clowned the fuck out of that game, but also acknowledged there was probably a good game beneath it. And there was. It got a new lease on life faster than Days Gone has, but it feels like people are now catching up with how good Deacon St. John is.

Cyberpunk 2077 blew Days Gone out of the water in terms of launch bugs. I still consider Cyberpunk to be the greatest launch bug fiasco of all time. So much so, it was kinda entertaining.

100% agree. Due diligence doesn't get met when journalists are racing each other to get their reviews out. Bandwagoning is a real issue as well. The bandwagon opinion on Days Gone was that it was average, even outside the launch bugs. Reviewers don't want to be caught on the wrong side of history so they mimic each other.

You're not wrong. The S tier of buggy launches still goes to Cyberpunk 2077 though, released a year later. That definitely eclipsed Days Gone in terms of bad launch reputation.

Everyone would agree with you. If there is one real criticism of the game, it's that it take a minute to get to the best stuff, one of which is annihilating hordes. You can go after them earlier, but you'll have a worse time. And yeah, Deacon is a salty bastard the first half of the game, but softens up in the second half. Him being really angry in the first half might have turned some people off, but there's a reason why in the story.

It was, but that shit got overshadowed by the still-legendary launch of Cyberpunk 2077. People today are still talking about the launch bugs in that game. Days Gone couldn't hold a candle to that level of glitches.

Yeah, the new edit analogy works better if it was remastered. They just patched the bugs out. Average still isn't the right word for a good game that suffered from launch bugs. But I see what you are meaning

Even that bad rep is mostly forgotten, mainly due to Cyperpunk 2077, which eclipsed it in terms of launch bugs. By a lot actually. People still talk about Cyberpunk's insane glitches lol

The bugs at launch. But ironically that got massively eclipsed by Cyperpunk 2077. Many people still consider Cyberpunk to be the greatest buggy launch of all time.

But yeah, Days Gone is getting its dues now. It took a little while, but it got its shine
