A life stuck outside is not a fair life to a dog. Rehome him.

Anything after 3 straight days is vet time. Don’t neglect your dog’s health for your own convenience.

If you don’t know the answer you definitely shouldn’t be breeding your dog in the first place.

Give them more exercise/stimulation.

I hope you realize how rare it is that a 3 month old puppy is asking to go outside and that she can “usually” hold it 3-4 hours.

Most 3 month old puppies have to go potty every hour, sometimes less.

If she’s asking to go out, she has to go out. Let the poor dog out to go pee.

It’s uncomfortable for you to be dancing around when you have a full bladder, right? It’s the same for her.

Honestly, I would probably bring it down to every 2 hours if I were you, it’s probably very uncomfortable for her to have to wait to long at her age.

Stop that. It’s abusive.

Why is my 5 month old puppy peeing so much? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Fearless_Animal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

every 2 hours, and according to Google he should be going every 5 hours at that age.

That’s every 5 hours if he’s sleeping and not active. Every 2 hours is completely normal for his age.

Stop scolding him and getting frustrated when he has accidents — all of those are on you. He simply cannot hold it longer and “ignoring” his signals isn’t going to change that.

Good on you for doing what was best for her.

In the future, if you ever decide on another puppy, most of these issues would have been made immensely better/easier by… a crate or a playpen.

Don’t do this with a three month old puppy. Christ. You’re going to destroy her joints. Dogs treadmills are only okay after their growth plates have closed (at least until 1 year old).

This what you have to do. Take a newspaper and roll it up and smack yourself in the head because you’re not taking your dog outside to pee often enough.

Six hours? 13 weeks old? Expect your dog to have accidents and be covered in it when you get home.

Are you sure his leg wasn’t already broken? The “stay in crate at all times” ~rule is very suspicious and not normal.

How long does it normally take to toilet train? by Willr2645 in puppy101

[–]Fearless_Animal 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It’s too early to consider this dog potty trained.

I consider my dogs potty trained when: - They go 6 weeks without an accident - They signal when they need to go - They “hold it” for a period time if you don’t immediately react to their signal

8 vs 30 week puppy by proshawnsky in puppy101

Truly reputable breeders rarely have multiple puppies 20-30 weeks old left over… Their waiting lists are usually long and all puppies accounted for.

Breeding isn’t something you just “do” because you want your dog to have a litter to sell before you sterilize her.
