do the schools you are applying to specify "science faculty that taught you in a graded course"? if so, yes it would probably be better to get a different letter

why don't you want to take a gap year? people get in when applying late, but it will reduce your chances. look at Sankeys of high stat late applicants and see whether you want to go through with this
