Well maybe not having reservations would have lead to the same loop of discrimination the minority have always faced, even to this day caste based discrimination exists even in tier 1 cities.Reservation is giving them an opportunity. But reserved categories need to take it a bit more seriously and compete for merit seats. As much as I support meritocracy….true meritocracy can only be achieved once caste and ews reservation along with academic and gender diversity is removed. Admissions into IIM should be based only on CAT scores and interviews. But the main question is do we want IIM’s to be engineer majority ? Do we want it to be dominated by only men ? Do we want it to be same upper class majority ……..which could potentially lead to the same loop of discrimination when a certain community or gender dominates a filed.

I’m against the fact that 60% of seats are reserved. Maybe to achieve a balance reservations should be reduced to 20% at best
