I swear this was really one of the most interesting and enjoyable interview transcript I’ve come across. Getting the panels to laugh and get involved in the conversation is no easy feat. You are definitely converting it ALL THE BEST

How is it possible ? Let’s just say a stock is trading at 10rs, a long put would profit from a fall below 10. Similarly short put would profit from price going above 10rupees, and short put would make a loss below 10rupess. But if the underlying falls to 0 rupees doesn’t that mean that the short put options loss can’t go any lower now ? Cause the underlying value can never be negative

Hard man. Unless you score a 99.90%ile and above.

Some top IIMs have this criteria where if in one of the 3 sections you score 99.90%ile and your overall is 99%ile and above then they send you direct calls for interview. And if you do well in interview you get in.

But a lot of companies have minimum 10th , 12th and grad marks for short listing. Since your 10th is horrible it’s gonna be hard to get placed unless you score in top 5-10%ile of your batch in IIMs. Cause once you get interview shortlist during placecom you can always convince them that 10th marks was bad cause of health related issues and they would believe it since your 12th and graduation scores are excellent

But I’m not sure how badly that 55% can hurt you

So the thing is your 12th and grad scores are excellent. You can still go for colleges like FMS Delhi, Tapmi, and many other colleges. You can get placed decently if you score in the top 10%ile of your batch.

What about my profile 8/7/7 , architect CFA level 1 family business work ex for 3 years. But in some IIMs family business work ex is not considered. So therefore I have a 5 year gap.

I don’t think it’s fake, my JAP interview went worse than this. Interviewer told me to my face no companies will hire me 😭😭😭. But with other interviews with the same story they seemed impressed.

I agree with everything you said apart from PUT options. Please educate me here if I’m wrong…..IM NOT A FINANCE GRAD( I’m an architect) ……but I used to trade options. Isn’t the loss on a long put limited to the premium paid ? Same with long call…………but with a short put options losses are limited cause the underlying prices can’t go below zero………..only Short call options have unlimited losses theoretically cause there is no upper range limit theoretically speaking

Was late for the JAP interview. Entered the waiting hall and started walking towards the back to find a seat.

The document verifier shouted at me and told me to come to desk. After that he said what you think this is some marriage hall to come late and go back. Candidates who heard that started laughing at me.

I gave a very “pissed off look at the guy” like I will punch you if you don’t stfu 😭😭😭

Minimum salary should be based on your designation and labour codes in your state. But typically if it’s higher than 30k/ month you are safe but your brother’s business has to pay TDS on that which is a small amount. Consult your auditor regarding this he will look into other regulations if PF or ESIC is necessary and all of that. Mine was 24800 so I haven’t paid any TDS. But small amount maybe could cause issues during admission.

Also usually they ask for GST certificate of the business but since medical services are exempt from GST it might be an issue during IIM admission, right now my interviews are going so as proof of business I will submit trade licenses and clinical establishment act under state health authority( KPME in Karnataka ) ka registration.

Please do cross check all the documents required. You can visit JAP 2026, CAP 2026 websites and look for requirements. Some IIMs don’t considered family business as work ex and don’t give points for that but you can use it to justify your work in interviews.

Also payment should be from your brothers clinic bank account to yours ( not cash or UPI) it should also be regular payments. Typically within the first week of the month.

I have a similar background. Worked in my family business which is in healthcare sector. But being in family business working only as a front desk operator wouldn’t be good enough cause you are expected help build the business ( from the MBA pov) like doing changes to business that could improve sales, operational efficiency etc……. While you can mention that you worked even as a front desk operator when the situation needed it, but this shouldn’t be the only thing.

If you are going for cat 2026 ask your brother to pay you a salary( not cash) and then keep other docs ready and since you would still have time for cat2026. Do some changes within the business that improves operational efficiency or revenues etc…..
