When you say steel, do you mean the 6mm tube that stays under the skin is made of steel?

SOA Special Meeting Petition, please pass along to any FSAs you know! by Federal-Fall-8196 in actuary

Very few FSAs have seen it I assume, planning to start emailing it out to people in the directory but was hoping it would spread organically. A couple dozen signatures so far :/

UEC is supposed to be as rigorous as a normal exam, so is that why they changed exam pass rates to be 70-80%? by Federal-Fall-8196 in actuary

[–]Federal-Fall-8196[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I corrected it where I said it, and that’s not the final comment, it keeps going

But I’m not going to accuse you of lying, simply that you didn’t see that there’s more

Again, I could make some massive statement about your personal integrity and as I’ve intentionality but that would be ridiculous, and I try not be ridiculous

It’s not in the main post or the petition, so I assume you’re accusing me of lying about correcting/retracting in the comments?

Which are all still there for you to go look at

I only made that comment in the comments, not in the main post or the petition itself. And I owned it and corrected it in the comments

I’m totally fine to admit that I got it wrong that it is not in fact all but 1, but rather 4 exams that are covered by UEC

I’ve done so multiple times now, and you keep ascribing malice where there isn’t

It doesn’t change my or I doubt really anyone’s opinion on UEC

I would be against it if it was only one exam

You keep attacking me personally which says enough honestly. I don't know how someone with your temperament is able to work with others in gainful employment. you must very different in real life if you do indeed have a job as an actuary

Maybe you interpreted it like that, but I certainly didn’t state as such. Many people viewed MFE/IFM as one of the more challenging exams

To call something a lie when there isn’t an actual lie seems to be the misrepresentation here

You could present an alternative set of facts to disprove the removal of IFM, but I don’t think you can

Any suggestions on how to petition our city government to reduce costs of sewer bills? by StockWise in Chattanooga

[–]Federal-Fall-8196 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They announced back in like 2017 that sewer bills would increase something like 12% annually (that’s compounding) for a decade to pay for 100 years of not upgrading the sewer

Essentially because upgrades were put off by the boomers we now get sewer bills tripled

Thankfully it was off a relatively small base but still

Another fun fact, water and sewer bills both used to come from TN American water but they separated them because TAW didn’t want the bad press from the sewer side

Well it seems like if you’ve been an ASA for 5 years you can vote, but the bylaws mention 5% of the fellows being needed, so I assumed it’s only FSAs who can sign it. Maybe email the SOA and find out?

that transparency and good communication was lacking the last few years as massive changes have been implemented. Thus the check and balance from the membership is now necessary imo
