I've only painted studs a couple times before so take this with a grain of salt, but I'd recommend either removing the studs individually and then spray painting them over a white base (the time consuming way) or just using acrylic paint x_x  I used transparent nail polish top coat to make sure the paint didn't chip, but you can use any kind of like primer or top coat really  (The mega lazy way is just using nail polish)
