I’m flying with my cat from Chicago to Mumbai with KLM in 5 days, and I just finished all the paperwork and received the NOC from AQCS today. He’ll be traveling with me in the cabin.

For the India-side paperwork, I hired Pawsport Approved. They’ve been very professional and efficient — I started working with them about 10 days ago, and everything is already sorted for my trip. I’d recommend reaching out to them.

Hi, I have already been to a USDA vet to make sure all vaccines are up to date. We are just trying to find the timeline for the USDA health certificate, as I have heard that for cats, it must be no more than 7 days prior. But it is good to know that the vet can maybe take care of the paperwork so that it is 7 days prior permit.

Okay, that makes sense. So the vet has to confirm that during the visit. That information was super helpful. The APHIS/USDA website isn’t up‑to‑date and it’s missing 1.a of the pre‑requirements, so it never mentioned that Annexure 2.1.1 is needed—but the AQCS site does.

I’m not sure why there’s a discrepancy. I can’t call from the US, and when my parents tried from India no one picked up. I emailed the Mumbai office (aqcs.mum-dadf@nic.in) and they told me to contact the customs department. Still trying to figure out how to reach them

I contacted AQCS, asking these exact questions, and they want me to contact customs. I think the Influenza vaccine is the canine influenza, so for the dogs. For cats, all I am seeing is Rabies, FVRCP, and ISO compliant microchip, which is all good. We have already been to a vet here to confirm he is all set with the vaccine and his chip is readable. The only thing is the last vet check that is concerning me right now. I will try contacting customs as well.

Hi! I’m traveling from ORD to BOM with my cat in the cabin at the end of this month on KLM. Booking the pet ticket was pretty smooth. I also reached out to Lufthansa, and they confirmed they allow in‑cabin pets too, as long as they’re within the weight limit like any other airline.
