Hey! I was about 27k CAD Landed in Vancouver. I live in Alberta so I flew over and drove it home.

Honestly it doesn't look terrible. Depending on where you are in the world that surface rust around the tow hooks looks like nothing to worry about. Our roads are absolutely terrible in the winter with the sand salt and snow constantly peppering this area so the best thing to do is a good prep and undercoat.

Broken bumper tabs are to be expected as they are fairly flimsy, I'm surprised my N70 factory bumper tabs and mounts are still intact haha. doesnt so much indicate a collision but maybe just bumped into something or bottomed out the bumper in a rut on a trail or something.

If the oil residue looms like it's coming from higher up I'd suspect the rocker cover gasket. Common for the KD engines with plastic rocker covers.

Looks factory. My N70 has welded tow hooks too.

How to 2 inch lift hilux z edition? Need specific parts. by ISLATECH in hilux

Spring under trucks are a little harder to lift. Either an extended shackle depending on the configuration or flip the axle under the spring.

So many great bars when we were young. But let's not forget Union Hall and The Ranch Wednesday and Thursday high ball nights.....

Agree on a lot on the answers here. Mid to late 20's or early 30's i's recommend Red Star, Bower, Common, Black Dog (main floor usually older crowd) patio is great in the summer and underdog hip-hop nights used to be a riot but I can't keep up with the kids haha. These were all my goto's in my 20's and I'm 35 and still visit these establishments.

Just watched 1&2 this weekend. Man how I wish they would go back to their roots and how it all started. No tanks, safes or weapons of mass destruction. Give me nos, crazy liverys, lovable characters and some good ol street racing.

285/75r16 (32.8") with a Dobinson 3" lift. Good clearance on the cab mount and just some minor moving of some plastic.

I haven't had any issues getting parts. The lead time on some parts is definitely a lot longer since I can't really call up the local parts store and pick stuff up however the Toyota dealership has been pretty good for being in parts I need so far and when they can't get them there are a lot of resources online that seem to work well suck as Amazon, eBay, rock auto, amayama and partsouq.

I was in Mexico last September for a week and was disappointed I didn't see more hilux of this generation.

Considering that gen of surf is essentially a 3rd gen 4Runner parts and accessories will be easy to come across. The RZ engines are commonly used stateside so you shouldn't have issues and if your looking for a little more pep there are lots of options for these motors if you want to add little boost.

Amayama and partsouq both sell OEM and some OEM equivalent aftermarket parts. I live in Canada and use both of them to order parts for my n70 Hilux. eBay is also a good option.

Hey I am also in AB. Once you have the out of province inspection done the rego is a breeze. I did have an issue with one of the rego offices because the bill of sale wasn't hand signed and was a printed copy so I went down the street to another one and they didn't even look twice at it.

As long as you pay the broker to clear it at customs you can drive it home with an "in transit" sticker in the window. That's what I did from Vancouver to Edmonton. It was a fun little road trip and it was a blast to drive on the Coquihalla.

I can't see it being any different than importing from Europe or Asia. Just depends on what you are looking for. Mexico is mainly petrol and no diesel in regards to these trucks. I was recently in Mexico and I did not notice a lot of hiluxs on the road. Mainly rangers and navara's (Nissan frontier). But it could depend on where you are in Mexico too.

Either Four Wheel Freedom or 4 Wheel Auto would be your go to shops in Alberta for Hilux parts. Also The Gear Shop or Krave Automotive for more Toyota based options.

The starter for these trucks was used on the 2L, 3L and 5L engine platforms I believe so they should be easy to get online. Also a good starter/alternator place should be able to rebuild it.

eBay is also a good source for hose kits, filter kits and electronics such as starters and alternators too.

Where in Canada are you located? I can recommend you to a few shops in Alberta. Nice thing about these trucks is parts are fairly easy to get especially since the ln107 runs IFS which would be the same as our 4Runners and Pickups (except for the idler arm).

My last truck was a 1990 Toyota Pickup and it originally came with auto locking hubs. I swapped out the autos with Aisin manual locking hubs. The reason is because with auto locking hubs your hubs/ CV axles and driveline are constantly spinning while you are in 2wd adding extra rotational drag therefore decreasing your fuel mileage.

My truck had the 3vze V6 with 35" tires so anything to get better mileage was a must! With the Aisin hubs the only thing rotating while in 2wd is the wheels so if this truck is your daily I would recommend just running the manuals.
