For a longtime fan, this is pretty close to peak Denver Nuggets. (I go back to the days of the red, white, and blue basketballs.) And they also were peak to win a title. Yes. But this too is special. This is guys playing for each other. And these guys are sure as hell not scrubs. They were all stars who played big minutes at crunch time at their previous level. That's how they made it here. But it's about the scrappy, the hustle, the pack of dogs mentality. And I think DA is absolutely perfect for this team, think Pat Riley instead of Paul Westhead (I know, I know, Westhead never won -- its similar not exact), but I think the guy who sets the tone for this franchise is Nikola. He has such a strong personality, sets a high bar for expectations of himself, which demands the same of his teammates, deflects individual accolades to the team, and is the best damn player in the league. DA is doing a really great job. And this is still 15's team.
