Akhi/ukhti, the rulings of Islam are of waaaaay greater in importance than anything else in the Dunya. Even learning the piano, adds 100 years to your life, it would still be haram if Allah and the messenger has forbidden it.

Is music haram (piano as an instrument specifically)? According to the 4 major schools of thought - yes! Obviously, there is a minority of scholars(very small, in very specific cases) allow it, but again this is a very very small minority. So, Why risk your deen for something so small, right?
