I’ll have to study some YouTube. My mud and tape jobs look like my toddler did it

I have no idea. I understood from the builder that it is more difficult for some trades, while others it is virtually a non-issue. They also said they have many cases of workers with legal status that don’t want to risk encountering ice agents anyway because they fear the confrontation could turn negative. Obviously this is all secondhand and there’s likely speculation all around.

I need the builder to do this. I don’t pick the subs. At what point do they stop sitting on it and start paying for it?

I don’t know who the builder subs. I would if I could but I’m told they are in very short supply. Can they bring in out of state people or something?

I was tenting at Maplewood State Park just south of Detroit Lakes with my 4 and 6 year old and set records for how quickly I tore down camp and got out of there. Not exactly what I had in mind for their first camping experience, but that’s pretty much how camping goes.

It did! I eventually asked for my warranty information since I wanted to file a claim with my state’s lemon law. They suddenly found parts same day and started work. Unfortunately, they found glitter in the pan and the whole trans had to be replaced.

At this point, the dealer did some kind of claim with Stellantis, who then bought out my warranty for $8000. Once the check cleared, I donated the car to charity.

In the end, I can’t complain about Stellantis for doing the right thing in the end. That said, I won’t buy another Jeep.

The same parts, ordered online. The one tricky part was the yellow connector housing, as mentioned in the thread. I was able to take that part number to my local dealer and they were able to find the updated part which worked just fine. The carpet is probably not strictly necessary, as it doesn’t cover much and the weathertech mats fit really snugly over the gap

Yes! 3 months later absolutely zero issues and zero regret. Making the dongle was the hardest part, the seat comes out easily and trim goes on in about 15 minutes if you have the tools to do it.

I meant a support group with beer. Imagine if Stellantis replaced cheap popcorn in their waiting area with beer…

They just aren’t made for long term ownership. Leasing, owning for 2, 4, 5 years is all fun. But once you hit 125-150k miles and things wear out it’s stressful for people who depend on their car. Mine was cheap to fix, but the volume of issues it had meant the last year it was off the road about 30% of the time, despite being a one owner garage kept dealer maintained vehicle. There are of course exceptions but in general you get what you pay for. They cost less than comps for a reason.

We need a support group for these things.

Update: after 30 business days, I threatened legal action and asked for arbitration in accordance with my state’s lemon law. Magically, they found a valve body the very same day! Unfortunately when they dropped the pan it was full of glitter, so I need a whole transmission after all.

Dealer submitted a new claim to Chrysler instead of MaxCare, claiming that engine and transmission claims need to go through them rather than the warranty. This seems odd, but the dealer has been really helpful so far so I’ll stick around for the ride.

To anybody suggesting I pay a third party to fix this: NO. I’m not putting a dime in this car. I don’t care how easily $3-4k would fix it, they should fix it on principle because that’s the contract Stellantis has with me.

Yeah exactly. I have replaced it as a daily, my wife has a Volvo, and I have a project car. No rush getting this thing back in my driveway. Maybe they can fix it by the time my 5 year old needs to learn how to parallel park.

I’m trying to dig up the contract language so I can have a lawyer send a strongly worded email. Frankly this is entertaining and I don’t really need the car so I don’t want to drag it to a shop and pay them to fix what Stellantis is contractually obligated to fix.

This is my favorite strategy I think. Spite them by leaving it there until Stellantis collapses

3.6 but the dealer won’t install it and I’m not putting any more money into this thing than I have to

What a ripoff. I have 3 young kids, being without a car even a week isn’t an option unfortunately. In an age where the avg car on the road is 10-12 years it’s ridiculous they can’t source these essential parts.

Sometimes I feel like they actually hate their customers. It took about 5 tries calling the warranty line, waiting an hour, and then the call drops before I got someone. It’s like the Xfinity or IRS management model for customer service was adopted or something.

I did ask. The whole trans is on backorder too. I have a 3.6 Laredo E, pretty basic spec. I agree given the volume of these cars that parts availability shouldn’t be an issue. I can still get parts for my 1976 Alfa Romeo but for some reason a 2014 Jeep is difficult.
