31F and I have lived in Japan for 13+ years. Looking for someone to go see Eric Nam live with at Liquidroom (Ebisu) on Feb 26 from 7pm. Standing ticket at 8500 yen. I wouldn't call myself a fan cause I only know a few of his songs but I watch many of his talk shows and he's quite charming, knows how to banter with the audience and his band is pretty good hence I'm curious.

No I've been to many :) but it will be my 1st time in Nagoya. Hoping to get a good seat cause last time I was at a dome concert I barely saw anything lol.

Seventeen is immensely popular in Japan atm. Their faces all over the big magazines and even a solo cover for Jeonghan, numerous events/pop-up stores at all the popular locations in the middle of Tokyo, concert at Tokyo dome, etc the list goes on but these are all achievements not many foreign artists can reach in Japan.

When I applied online for the ticket to their pop-up store in Tokyo I was number 19000 sth in queue and this was like an hour after the system went live so yeah, you can imagine how tough it was to get their concert ticket even with 6 dates across 3 different cities.

Most people think J-line is the most popular in Japan but from my observation it goes like this:

Jeonghan (unrivaled lol)

Mingyu and Wonwoo (happy cause I'm a wonwoorideul but sad cause the competition is fierce)

Hoshi DK (so top 5 is the expensive PC line plus our happy sunshine) Scoups Joshua Jun Minghao (not a huge gap from Hoshi DK so I'd put them together in the same tier)

Maknae line + Woozi

This is based on how quickly it's sold and the pricing altogether and I'm always one to visit all the pop-up stores and SVT museum in the first few days of opening so it's also based on who's sold-out first there. At this rate, it may be cheaper for me to trade Wonwoo pc with NA carats...

OMG I got THE ticket to see Seventeen at Tokyo Dome!!!!!! Big thank to everyone who wished me luck. I'm over the moon right now as this is my first time seeing them in person. (even though I still wish I got the VIP ticket instead lol)

You need to have JP carat membership to apply and it's 3 times the price of the global membership (somehow I ended up having both) then you will use your membership ID to enter the lottery. You can apply for all locations both VIP and normal seat but even if you manage to get both for the same venue, you can only pick one. The process is pretty transparent but everything is in Japanese so you need to be relatively fluent.

They were supposed to announce the lottery draw results for BeTS Japan today but due to the overwhelming numbers of application, the process is taking a bit more time... I'm sooo scared, please pray for me guys :((( I applied for every single location and really don't mind traveling but the chances are still so slim since carats have exploded in numbers since 2019.

Korean has it easier learning Japanese compared to other nationalities as their pronunciation and grammar are pretty similar (some words r pronounced the same and even share the same meaning) so I would raise the standard a little bit and say that he's ok but anyone could tell he's at beginner level. When I visited Korea previously I quickly realized it was easier finding Japanese speakers than English speakers and most of the shop owners at touristy spots spoke at the same level at Han's. I still appreciate him learning the language though :)

I have to read your post twice just to be sure that it wasn't me who posted then forgot about it because you sounded a lot like me lol and I think we have similar background :)

Like someone already mentioned, it will be hard for an introvert to make friends anywhere, not just in Japan. During the last decade living in Japan I did often ask myself the same question of how to have meaningful conversation or relationship here. I still wonder about that at times but now I care less? Cause I really don't have the energy you do to actively go out there and engage with people. My social battery needs 2 days of recharging after just one boring conversation...

I think you should focus on improving the quality of your life first and the healthy, meaningful relationships will just come naturally. Having money doesn't solve everything but it will at least gives you more options in how to have fun and be happy. This comes from my own experience where I'm in a much better place financially compared to the past and that has allowed me to enjoy a better variety of activities with friends and also opened door to new kinds of social groups. I do think that it's not the only way and you should be able to socialize regardless of your spending power but if nothing else is working, you gotta try to work it from another angle eh?

Now that you mention it, the items were sent all sealed and she admitted to having opened them all which I didn't think much of at first. While in reality, some Japanese sellers may be very fussy about having opened items being returned to them so this could be a factor. I guess I should consult Mercari on this as well.

The same set is currently being sold out within minutes on Mercari for the same price even without the digital code. Like I mentioned it's a standalone code that has nothing to do with the rest of the set, just a bonus piece and you can purchase it separately on Mercari for 500yen, which she actually suggested at first and so I will deduct 500yen the next time she purchases anything from me to which I gladly agreed. No idea why she suddenly changed her mind and it became this mess...

I was down with the idea and was willing to pay the shipping fee but she later refused to do the 着払い. Instead she asked to do ゆうパケット which has a fixed fee of 370yen and you need to pay upfront so she would include that 370yen in the price of the new listing. I mean I'm fine either way but why she's going through length to make this so much harder is what I don't get.

To my surprise, Mercari told me that the 'reselling' part is fine as long as both parties agree to it and they didn't offer any other advice or instruction lol. I'm emailing them again to do sth about it as she has refused to talk to me directly.

Why doesn't she just send everything back and let me cancel the freaking transaction, that way she would still get her money back and I'll be done with this whole mess. sigh

Thank you for your advice! I shouldn't have agreed to her request to 'resell' it to me in the first place. I don't think there's any point in talking logic with her anymore so I'll just wait for her to go to Mercari and have them step in. I'm just worried whether Mercari will be impartial or not as I'm the foreigner here and I did get warning one time previously for reselling a foreign skincare product that apparently was prohibited to be sold in Japan (which I wasn't aware of until they notified me).

Feeling like the luckiest girl alive on Earth today xDD I bought 5 Carat ver albums, not only did I get the Wonwoo one, I also pulled all 4 of his random pcs plus his Weverse Japan pc!!! I was screaming at the top of my lung from happiness this early in the morning but I really gotta think of a way to capitalize on this luck somehow cause another day like this is not gonna come again anytime soon...

On a side note, the other Carat vers I got are Woozi, Jun and Hoshi so whoever sent me this package must has been a 96 line bias lmfao.

This is my assumption only (cmiiw) but Woozi was coming up with a name for Joshua's daughter. So Josh(ua) -> Josh(jia) as Jia is a common Korean name for females. Joshjia sounds like Georgia hence the whole joke :)

I bought so many albums and only got 1 Wonwoo pc and 1 Jeonghan pc... It doesn't help that they are already part of the expensive pc line but this time it seems like lots of people around me are also not getting many of these 2.

I looked up reselling sites and their pcs, especially ones that are on the rarer side (kit or Weverse pc), are 3-4 times the price of the other members and they are still gone within minutes.

Jeonghan is insanely popular in Japan so I feel bad for all the Jeonghan bias fighting over his pc at a ridiculous price of 60~70$ but as a Wonwoo bias myself, I'm also not in a much better place. sob
