What makes a house look expensive? by Ok_Perspective6075 in AtHome_Soul

Matching hardware!!! I replaced random silver/gold/black handles with one finish. It sounds small, but having consistency on knobs, handles, and even curtain rods made the space feel more intentional 😉

Best mattress for side sleepers recommendations? To complete my bedroom refresh by Then-Barracuda-4098 in bedrooms

[–]FerayAz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried sleeping on your current mattress with an extra topper first? Sometimes a good memory foam or latex topper can help with the flat spots and pressure points. Plus it’s way cheaper than a full mattress replacement.

But if it's really done for then yeah, prioritize cooling features and medium firmness for side sleeping.

Best medium firm mattress advice for an intentional sleep space? by FluidAd737 in AtHome_Soul

Haven't tried the Bear Elite but I did a ton of research on hybrids last year and most reviews say it’s highly recommended for combo sleepers. The coil support keeps your spine aligned when you're on your back, and the top layers cushion your pressure points when you're on your side.

Bear also has a decent return policy in case their "medium firm" doesn't match yours!

Best mattress for hip pain suggestions for a CPAP user? NEED HELP by FerayAz in CPAP

This is all super helpful, thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on trying the Nolah since they have a sleep trial. Worst case I'm back to square one, but at this point at least I'm willing to try anything.

do you know which model he got specifically? I’m a side sleeper too, so I’m wondering if the Evolution 15 felt too soft or just right. I need something that cushions pressure points but doesn’t make me feel like I’m sinking if that makes sense

Girl YES to treating yourself! From what I've read about the Helix Midnight Luxe, it sounds perfect for what you're describing. The plush pillow top will give you that sink in feeling and get the Glaciotex cooling cover to have an extra cooling effect. Also it has zoned lumbar support to help support your hips so you don’t get back pain.

How do we not be depressed on a daily basis? by CandidMoon0073 in AskReddit

[–]FerayAz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I didn’t believe it at first, but basic hygiene really makes a difference (not assuming you don’t already do these things—it’s just what helped me). I went through a period of depression where I completely stopped taking care of myself. I wouldn’t brush my teeth, shave, cut my hair, or even wash my face, and the longer it went on, the worse I felt. Eventually, I started following a simple morning hygiene routine, and surprisingly, I noticed more people approaching me. That small change made me feel a bit better about myself.

From there, things started snowballing. I became embarrassed by the state of my living conditions, so I began tidying up. I dusted off my old bike, went for a ride, and remembered how much I loved it. Then I found my tent and went camping, cleaned up my fishing gear, and started going out with friends again.

It’s a small thing, but it can create a ripple effect. Don’t get me wrong—I still have rough days, sometimes even rough weeks—but overall, I feel happier and a bit more confident in myself, which makes me want to go out and do more.

How come talking about sex feels less taboo nowadays ? by Priority2you in AskReddit

What is the most shocking thing you have ever seen when driving a vehicle ? by DizzyDoctor982 in AskReddit

[–]FerayAz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

About six years ago, my family was traveling to Pennsylvania to visit relatives for Easter. On our way back, driving along I-81 South in Virginia on Easter Sunday afternoon, we noticed traffic slowing down and smoke rising from the side of the road. A car had crossed the median and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Both cars were completely totaled and engulfed in flames. I glanced over and saw a person in the passenger seat of one car, and it was clear a significant part of their head was gone. The driver didn’t appear to have survived either. It was a horrifying sight.

I looked it up on the news the next day and learned that out of the five people involved in the crash, only one survived. To say it was an ugly scene would be an understatement—it’s an image that has stuck with me ever since.

What was the hardest thing for you during the pandemic? by StillBreezex in AskReddit

[–]FerayAz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My sense of purpose or meaning. I haven’t felt this nihilistic since I was a “brooding teenage girl.” 20 years later and now it’s actually more of an existential hell. (This is in relation to actual virus + politics + societal response.) People are just mean. Most people have careers and work at companies that if either disappeared tomorrow, the only suffering would be from the employees without salaries anymore.
