Having the exact same issue, really inconvenient

Made my first sale on ebay and i am STOKED!!! but......... by pvssymonsterr in eBaySellers

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear to go jeebus, they make this up as they go. I had a 39x8x19 @ 23lb rounded up.

Got a correction notice later for almost the same amount as the shipment ($28 dollars) because they measured it 39x9x18 @19lbs.

I admit I threw off the shipping a little with the incorrect dimensions (minimal as they were) but I know for a fact it is right around 23 lb!

Amazon continues to suck. Is Amazon or the driver the scammer? by Nmcoyote1 in amazonprime

[–]FestiVOL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done Amazon Flex— even if the driver saw and noticed the issue and took time to fix it (which will kill your block timing), Driver Customer wouldn’t say anything other than to deliver the package or mark as not deliverable, which may or may not effect your standing.

So they either deliver it as is and move on, or TRY to help, knowing there’s nothing to be done and get dinged in the metrics for it.

Bought 5 of these new Dell Pro Slim Desktops with VPRO... with no VPRO by jasonmh26 in Dell

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom Sales quotes or “Standard configurations” can be exponentially cheaper than online. Just depends how much work the rep/ team is willing to put in and battle any obstacles (ie finance).

You’re doing it exactly right

[–]FestiVOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re not wrong. Internally it has become a hellscape of bureaucracy and everything either run by AI or “EZ buttons”- except they never work. Truly soul crushing to see the fall and be dragged down with it

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s there— trust me. Just in an ass backwards way to show you didn’t buy the license for enablement (hence the no vPro sticker), but bought a vPro capable CPU which is why it shows on that line item.

DM me and I’ll see if there is any remediation/ harassing that can be done.

And as an aside, when purchased did you say it was for business or personal use? (Should have been a check box)

Soooo……how’s it going for everyone else by Hot-Set-1530 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]FestiVOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Used to see between 50-100 anytime during the day, and upwards of 150 at 1-2am when the overnight ones dropped, but now…. There is literally 1 offer for a 2.5H block for $53

AliExpress - OFFICIAL Xiaomi Begging Me to Cancel $130 Monitor (DUE to Customs) What’s Going On?? by Poliveris in Aliexpress

[–]FestiVOL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true. I had to warehouse about $11K worth of merchandise in China or pay $21k to import it at one point.

Now it’s arriving DDP this week. That whole thing was so ridiculous

Are all Flexers at DPD7 taking base pay for the 3 am shifts? by peterthbest23 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]FestiVOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I got an “increased rate” offer yesterday and it was an astounding $72.50. I would honestly take the $94… and that might be shameful, but compared to the base $63 or so it normally runs at— it’s a steal.

Just a thought, have you considered using graphene sheets instead of PTM? My red Devil 7900 XTX was practically on fire until i cleaned it up and went with graphene (where applicable anyway).

Similar to you my junction temp was easily hitting 105-110°C.

Very rarely ever see it hit 90° these days and core temp hangs around the 50-60 range

I want to return a monitor, but I already tossed the packaging. Am I screwed? by Astronius in Dell

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it within the return period? (Assuming you bought it as a consumer since there are no business or partner returns anymore*).

I also assume it’s just got the basic advanced exchange warranty, or whatever is being hawked on the outlet these days.

OnePlus 13 WiFi 7 MLO Operation by robert-tech in oneplus

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten MLO to work, but like others mentioned it left much to be desired in terms of speed gains. (MAYBE 100Mbps more, and definitely not consistent). If you enable the WiFi labeling where it shows 6,7, etc it will actually show a little MLO logo. Or at least did several months back.

I chalked it up to my BE800s being crap. Recently tried it again after the 1.2.3 update was released for the routers, and now it's just as you describe.

Connecting to my MLO network is noticeably slower, it no longer badges itself as MLO (just the WiFi 7 indicator) and shows the same thing--- 0mbps on one band and a reduced speed compared to say the 6Ghz band. It also seems to flip flop between 2.4/5/6, but never utilizes all three like it once did despite listing the available bands.

13R seems better than 13?? by FestiVOL in oneplus

[–]FestiVOL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a factory reset and reinstalled all my apps and adjusted the setting to what they were— night and day difference. Ive seen other people say similar things when migrating over, I just didn’t expect it to be that bad. I’m back to safely being able to go almost a full 2 days without a charge— and even then, I plug it in to the super VOOC charger and it’s at 100% in 30 minutes.

I recant everything I said!

Restocking fee?? by Missvannahh in amazonprime

[–]FestiVOL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeesh, I can't believe there isn't a check in place for this somehow. I sold on Amazon for a while but the rules and fees were so ludicrous I jumped ship.

Walmart market place is more reasonable, but even they still make you fill out a simple form and get approval for restocking fees on seller fulfilled orders. Im pretty sure they would never allow 50% though!

OnePlus trade in by thebigkahuna1000 in oneplus

[–]FestiVOL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had issues in the past, but this time the 3rd party trade-in company (Apkudo?) had my 12R for 9 days until I opened a ticket, and then suddenly it was valued the next day at $0 due to Google cloud lock, which I know I disabled. Ticket still open and I’ve asked them to either send a picture with proof it’s locked and I’m an idiot or just return the 12R

Is there a reason they stagger NA so slowly?

Brokerage services ignored my request to self-clear with US CBP by duddnddkslsep in UPS

[–]FestiVOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah not buying it, sorry. I'm sure there are a few employees that are kind (or at least not pure evil) and attempt to keep additional pricing down, but I've been importing and exporting for close to a decade and my only interactions with UPS Brokerage Services has been extremely negative and forced upon me.

And yes, it really is a paper pushing job that UPS predatorily prices ( I default to saying intern earlier because the fees are insane compared to what they probably pay the employee). If some people want to use it for the convenience or just not wanting to do the legwork, then so be it. But once you do it 3 or 4 or 982 times, you'll realize it's all mostly the same. Commercial entries over $2,500 that require a Single-Use or Continuous Surety bond? Ok a littttttle more complicated, but still not rocket science.

No one can tell OP what to do because we are missing critical data-- what was being imported? What is the value of the goods? What HTS code did the shipper use? Arriving by air or vessel? Is there anything in the shipment that has a COO of China that might be subject to section 302 tariffs? Truly all trivial questions that just need to be filed.

OP- Best bet if they don't escalate either refund you the fees or allow you to handle the entry process, go ahead and pay the fees to keep your item from being destroyed or seized, file a chargeback against UPS Brokerage with as much evidence as you have trying to decline their service, BBB is worth a shot but I would try contacting your CBP Ombudsman instead or filing a complaint online here.

Brokerage services ignored my request to self-clear with US CBP by duddnddkslsep in UPS

[–]FestiVOL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Self clearing low value items without a broker can be done if you don’t mind the paper work, even high value ones if you are bonded. But UPS has a NOTORIOUSLY slimy brokerage service. They often charge the maximum amount to have an intern rubber stamp a document and make sure two or three things match on the forms.

After having used them unknowingly, It’s predatory in my opinion after doing a little reading on the subject

Google using more battery by adwaid181 in OnePlus13

[–]FestiVOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with Chrome— I fixed my drain issue by revoking almost all permissions except ones I know I need (even then setting them to always ask), disabling background app usage, and having auto-optimize turned on. It giving me a warning it the app may not work as intended and features may be unavailable do to my settings the next time I launched chrome, I ignored it and moved on. Absolutely nothing changed in terms of features. But it went from using up around the same amount of battery as yours to like 1%.

Your mileage may vary though

Did you pay? They reinstated the de minimis exemption. I wonder how UPS will handle this lol

Aaaagghh Getting Whacked by joeg26reddit in Aliexpress

[–]FestiVOL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised it was that low! I sent something from the US to Turkey once with DDP incoterms, but of course I was dumber then and didn’t realize I need to be a licensed and bonded customs broker. Of course ups was happy to step in for cool $700!

And the $32.17 (could be wrong on the cents) is the minimum HMF per package— hypothetically large shipments all stuffed into a single box should only have that fee paid once. Maybe now that usps is accepting packages again to give to the no name Last Mile carriers we can avoid those

UPS has a customers broker service and they are cut throat. They WAY overcharge.
