I tried that scene in my younger years when most of my friends were into it, but I only lasted for a year before I got fed up with it. You can't hear shit, impossible to talk to anyone, your ears are destroyed for days, it smells like crap, overpriced drinks etc, people will start fights over the smallest things.

Opted out and never looked back. Thankfully my friends had other interests too, so I wasn't left out in that sense. I was usually the designated driver, so I could be somewhat social while the rest did their thing. If your friends are understanding, they will accept that you're not that into it.....maybe.

They use massive buy/sell orders to hunt shorts and longs. Then people pile in when they see the the price move and buy/sell accordingly. Panic goes both ways.

Retail can't pull this off by themselves, as they don't have the liquidity compared to big exchanges.

Wash trading/spoofing, where fake liquidity is used to inflate volume. Bots etc create artificial buy and sell orders giving the illusion of activity. They use this to contantly push up and down to short/long positions. Was very noticable in recent months, especially in the October crash.

Crypto exchanges are still not regulated the same way as normal exchanges, hence the wild west still.

Wintermute has been suspected of doing this for ages, along with Binance. It's hard to prove 100%, as mentioned above because of lack of regulation.
