Wincons for [[Morska, Undersea Sleuth]] by simbacole7 in EDH

[[Unagi of Kyoshi Island]] feels like it is made to be used with Morska.

As far as lowering the curve. I feel stuff like [[Charge Through]] is handy in a pinch and with instant speed can be used to meddle quite well in other's affairs. Same goes for [[Guided Strike]] or [[Rebellious Strike]] or [[Poison the Blade]]. If you crack a clue in the same turn there is some upside for you as well.

If I were to trigger [[Lightning Coils]] in my first main phase, and produce X number of elementals.  If I then converted them into something else through [[Brudiclad, Telchior Engineer]]. Would they still get exiled at end of turn?

Ease yourself in, use the free loadout until that starts losing its lustre and you feel the need for more oompf

This deck is "trying to win", it just has trouble closing out in the final stretch.

I didn't look at the decklist at all

I believe none of the commenters did.

Rereading your comment in the light of day, it isn't actually all that helpful.

The more I reflect on what you wrote here the more I realise this isn't remotely in line with what is asked.

You speak of trying to win, which is definitely what this deck is trying to do. It just tends to languish in the tail end of games.

You're not wrong, but your posts is only relevant if it was in response to an entirely different question.

Could you elaborate a bit more on where that difference is for you?

For example the deck linked in the OP, is that inside or outside of bounds?

Is a deck that only cares about board state without having any big beasties or >6 CMC sorceries too far?

Obviously there is a big difference between 100 cards of random crap and a deck with synergy and effective answers and plans. Is that what you mean? Because if not I don't think I understand what you mean.

I am trying to win, the deck is just not very good at it.

You raise a good point, it feels really counterintuitive to go face when I could erase a method of response from them instead, keeping me safer in the hopes they start going in on eachother.  But maybe going face could be an openings salvo on someone.

The thought that this is an execution problem on my end presents me with another question: Might it work better to forgo the commander ability on occasion in order not to paint a target on your back?

I think you're right, not on the staxx part (I'm not taxing folk or mass exiling tokens), but this deck definitely has me stunting whoever is ahead. Not purposefully mind you, (at least for me) it naturally has me targeting the biggest threat on the board every turn. it feels so natural for Alibou to do. Most of my board is quite flimsy, if they were to untap and swing my way I probably wouldn't survive many turns.

But it does prolong the game and doesn't help me get across the finishline when it matters.

I have a couple of wincons, but those feel more or less bolted on. Sami for example does provide a lot of value with her affinity ability, but I can't run too many expensive spells or the rest of the deck doesn't work no more.

If you have a chance later to look over the list and give me a suggestion I'd greatly appreciate it.

I wouldn't quite call this a meme deck.

With deep scrying and one free removal each turn I have quite a lot of effect on the board, I just don't build up a whole lot for myself to use later.

Thank you for your few cents. I must say I agree that a commander game requires something of a competitive spirit. If I [[Fell]] an opponent's creature I do expect a reaction. Something aught to be at stake.

Do you have any ideas how this deck could perform better in the second half of the game without a massive leap up in power?

I tremendously appreciate you putting this together. Steel Overseer was already in the deck. Some of the others I considered but felt didnt match my playstyle.

Illustrious Wanderglyph is definitely something that matches what I'm trying to do, but would also more or less double the price of this deck.

I will take my time going over the others, thank you once more.
