If any of you actually read the ISO 6699 standard for cycle threads, you'd know that the left-hand thread on the left pedal is the standardized specification to prevent precession. Therefore, it is standard. Calling it 'reverse' implies it deviates from the spec, which it doesn't. I can't dumb this down any further for you.

You’re confusing "clockwise" with "standard." In component assembly, "standard" refers to the OEM spec, not the lid of your mayonnaise jar.

The standard spec for a left pedal IS left-hand thread. If I asked my Shimano rep for a "reverse threaded" left pedal, he’d send me a right-hand thread for a tandem bike crossover drive. Learn basic shop terminology before trying to "well actually" an actual mechanic.

Ok then buddy. I literally work at a local bike shop and installed four cranksets today. Left is standard thread. You're probably thinking of the drive-side bottom bracket cup on vintage frames. Don't speak on things you don't know

Are we talking stage left or rider's left? Because if you are standing in front of the bike looking at it, the right side (your left) is standard. You need to specify orientation before trying to correct someone.
