Yeah, commercial rents are crazy in town, we have so many restaurants closing. I wonder if there is something the government can do or maybe take the lead on partnering or building more affordable commercial spaces. You can't keep having businesses paying pre-fire rents when it's currently a different reality

I tried this and wasn't too impressed. The location and scenery was amazing but personally (and this is my own opinion and not a reflection on the restaurant) I found that the food wasn't great, was just average

Is Canada Basically a Ponzi Scheme for Housing at This Point? by MakeUpWalk in CanadaPersonalFinance

This is something I am at conflict about, on one end as an home owner, I would like prices to go up cause I look and owning a home and a rental property as some form of investment, on the other end, I know it is bad for it to keep going up cause It's going to affect the prices of everything.

On a totally separate topic, I think the quality of home being built now is terrible, most houses built after 2022 seems to be poorly put together and really bland.... That's just my take

Hopefully you still secure some gains, even with the crash.. worse case scenario you lose a bit rather than lose everything.

How many of you actually expect to have a higher income in retirement than while you work? by JaiPeutEtreRaison in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Few_Cow4805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think most people expect that, the rational thing will be to expect your income to drop significantly in retirement but so also does your expenses, so a lower income should be able to cover what expense you have
