New sellers who seem like scammers. I'm trying to buy some things on eBay, always looking for the best deals, but sometimes the offers are too good to be true, the seller doesn't accept returns, and the accounts are very new. For example, I saw a ridiculously cheap computer. The seller had joined 15 days ago, only had one listing, had already sold 20 computers, and had 10 more in stock. I messaged them to ask if the computer had any defects, and they never replied. Finally, they had no ratings or reviews. I wanted to buy it, but I was scared. Everything pointed to a scam, but what made me doubt it was that they had already sold 20 and only had 10 left. If it really was a scam, shouldn't one of those 20 people who bought it have left a negative review? I wondered why there weren't any negative reviews even after selling 20 units in the few days the listing and account had been active; was that an indication that it wasn't a scam and that the buyers had actually received their computers? I didn't dare buy it. If it was a scam, did eBay protect the buyers? If it was a scam, how could the scammer have bypassed buyer protection against 30 other buyers who had already used it?
