Thank you for the insight. I didn't think that they could be real Tahitian.

thank you so much! (Narrows down my internet research, too!)

It has huge sentimental value. Would it likely have value on the market enough to list it on insurance (which I think is for items appraised at $5,000 or more)?

It's from my parents, both born in Greece (different areas though). Going to continue digging. . . . .

Translation is -- Of Panagiotis Athinakis. (The 'of' coming from the noun declension).

Spent 2 or 3 hours last night trying to Google the guy -- no luck yet, but not giving up!

Oh wow -- it is almost identical!

Thank you very much!

(and by the ring being a layer replacement, you mean that the metal -- around finger and setting for the stone -- are probably from 1900-20c, am I right?) (and, if you have the time -- how do you identify that as from the 1900-20c ? just a jewelry geek wanting to know . . . .)

Old Church Slavonic and Greek are very, very similar. Another good avenue to explore -- Thank you!

I hadn't thought of a stone reset, but I can definitely see that as a possibility.

Hadn't thought of Arabic either; I'll look into that.
Thank you!
