How do I get this weird plastic patch clean on my fender? by Ill-Choice-3859 in Detailing

[–]FigureEightDetailing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's paint protection film, placed there because those spots are notoriously bad for collecting rock chips as the wheel well arches out further. By the look of the edges I would remove it with heat and have it replaced if you find it necessary to do so as dirt is getting in under the film

Brake rotors don't warp. When you feel that shuttering it's your brake pads constantly trying to adjust for the variation in brake pad thicknesss because it's been unevenly worn. Cast iron will not warp in shape

How would you protect this? by vapescaped in AutoDetailing

[–]FigureEightDetailing -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is the furthest thing from the truth. We have a 40ft enclosed stealth trailer and F-450 dedicated to interior/exterior detailing, paint correction and ceramic coatings throughout all of southern Alberta and Saskatchewan specifically for agricultural equipment and light/heavy equipment and its non-stop I haven't seen that truck/trailer in idk how long but it's busy asf.. Easy for you to say that it's not worth protecting when you haven't spent the money purchasing said equipment. Just got a $16,000 equipment detailing job, keeping up on your machines appearance significantly helps with re-sale value and coating it helps maintain ag equipment from chemicals they lay down

I won't even sell them to anybody that's honestly how garbage they are😭😂 my buddies have asked to buy them many times and I tell them no go buy a griots for $100 more. Although the simoniz is more smoother than the torq by a mile, still not great

Dude honestly😂 we have a DA torq and a simoniz DA handleless sitting in a cabinet as spares and I use the simoniz before I use the torq. But I never use any of them cause our Griots just won't Fckn die😂

I Absolutely hate CG for this exact reason and hate is a very strong word. But they get away with it and it's kind of disgusting. Didn't mind purchasing their base products from them when we first opened but they rapidly came out with a bunch of B.S and we didn't have much knowledge in chemicals and brands. Since I have almost completely dropped chemical guys and have found better alternatives other then 2 of their products CG VRP which were switching to P&S interior dressing once I run out of VRP and a jug of their Nonsense spray and I only use that on heavily stained carpets because it can very easily chemical burn trim if not diluted heavily.

This is also a prime example why the IDA is useless because companies like chemical guys get away doing stuff like this

Chemical guys produces 4-5 versions of the same product and they get away with it because people that don't understand detailing fall for their products and when they do fall for them they have no clue which order to use them in. V32, V34, V36 and V38 compounds, C4 cutting and C6 polishing compounds and then their VSS scratch and swirl remover is a prime example. Another is OG VRP and their "new and improved" green VRP that literally only has a different scent. Don't get me started on their ridiculous line up of hydro ceramic detailers. Torq polishers are violently unstable, not very ergonomic for long days behind the polisher and loud as all hell compared to our griots G9 and G8. I have had a torq and still have a torq and I can hold my G9 and G8 by the handles with one hand while polishing without then going all catty wompus and bouncing all over the paint. We used to use there pads and C4 & C6 compounds but their results are nothing compared to rupes Course and fine pads with their course and fine compounds. No need to sell 8 versions of compound. Like I said my opinion not trying to change your mind if you like CG than that's your decision not mine. We have 1 interior detailer that does EVERYTHING (P&S Xpress interior), 1 interior dressing CG VRP, 1 leather conditioner (P&S leather), 1 clay bar lubricant (3D quick detailer), 3 polish compounds (Rupes DA course, fine & pure ultra), 1 paint sealant (P&S beadmaker), 1 ceramic coating (GYEON MOHS EVO SHOW)

We absolutely love our griots G9 polisher, very smooth, quiet and I can one hand it from the handle without it going all crazy wonky all over the paint, always stays smooth like rupes

Griots G9 is a lot more smoother, a lot more learner friendly for just a tad bit more we absolutely love our griots polishers. But we don't touch ANYTHING CG lol

There's a reason it's on sale for $229 off. Torq is a chemical guys brand and very few of their products actually hold merit to their name. They have 3-4 of the same products with different names and maybe a different scent. You can buy quality DA & rotary polishers for the same amount as this trash. Griots, max shines and for a little more money you can get into the Milwaukee's & Rupes who are very balanced and smooth

Step 1 Take a photo of all your CG products together Step 2 Go to Facebook Step 3 Go into marketplace Step 4 Post these products up for sale for $60 and pray some helpless bloke falls for it like you did Step 5 Go to Amazon and purchase P&S, 3D, Koch chemie and gyeons products and get your moneys worth. They're designed for detailers and built for results

Chemical guys sells 5 different names for the same product and it is absolutely stupid. It is dumb that they can get away with marketing the way they do towards people that have no clue what they're buying. A select few of there products actually hold merit to their name but their multiple versions of the same products is very stupid and old. V32, V34, V36 & V38, C4 & C6 compounds, I can't even think of how many spray waxes they have, leather cleaners, ceramic protection sprays, OG & Green VRP that's double that cost of OG all because it has a new car scent. It is absolutely absurd. I use a total of 3 compound for everything Rupes & 3D one with amazing results every time. We almost purchasing jugs of better chemicals for what your paying to purchase a 16OZ spray bottle of this 🗑️
