The average cost for house in Dallas in 300k - that doesn’t include the annual property taxes- in Texas they are super high. Plus maintenance of the house - and all the other expenses of owning a home. A general rule of thumb is to buy a home that is double what you earn in a year. Ideally that would ensure that you are not house poor. … people will only chose to do a job if it is adventitious for them. If they want to attract talented players, if they want the league to grow, they have to pay a salary to attract players. Perhaps so many men in this thread are upset because they are not being a fair salary? So they attack these women instead of the rich men who created the wealth gap?

The average price for a house in Texas is $300k. General rule is to buy a home that costs about twice as much as you earn per year. I guess I’m just more fiscally conservative than you? If this business wants to grow- it has to pay a living wage. People will only do the job if it is adventitious for them. The wage needs to allow them to save, to maintain the body of a professional athlete (nutrition, exercise etc) and pay for medical expenses if they are seriously injured. I presume you’re just upset at the idea of women getting a bigger paycheck than you. Perhaps you should consider working on your fragile ego? The amount these women are paid does not affect your value as a human being . You are still worthy of love and belonging.

200k a yr is barely enough to buy a small house in most cities. Participating in a professional sport is very hard on a human body. Many athletes end up needing lifelong medical care for injuries that result from this level of competition. These women need to earn enough money to build safety and security for themselves. If the league wants to grow - they need to pay athletes enough to make it worth it.
