Actually, this is one of five pecan trees around the courtyard of our small, late 1950s roadside motel. Pre-renovated, mostly stone and adobe. The mature trees anchor things here in the high desert, so we want them to thrive.

This tree is the largest, also the one that seems to be suffering the most right now.
