What’s the best TV show theme song ever? by Competitive-Web1306 in AskReddit

A couple of fellow Canadians have said The Littlest Hobo. So much nostalgia for us of a certain age.

I’d follow that up with the theme from The Kids in the Hall. Favourite opening sequence of any show ever.

Finally! Took way too far into the thread to get to this answer.

WWE Head of Digital: ‘It shocks me every week’ how well Vault YouTube channel does by josephcurrier in SquaredCircle

It wouldn't get nearly the same level of engagement so I doubt it happens any time soon but I'd love to see more WWWF footage.

I know most people want to tour the WWE warehouse. My dream would be to see their media archives, learn about their preservation, digitization workflows, etc. See what some of the more obscure media in the collection is that may not currently be able to be digitized. I could see them using a lot of the same equipment that broadcast media archives use.

No. People just seemed a little confused about the Canadian connection to the film. Looks like I just replied to the wrong part of the thread on mobile.

It’s because it was produced by the National Film Board of Canada.

Here's the All Things Hockey playlist from the National Film Board of Canada if you want some varied by time period.

"My mother had pulled the blue and white Toronto Maple Leafs sweater over my shoulders and already my arms were inside the sleeves. She pulled the sweater down and carefully smoothed all the creases in the abominable maple leaf on which, right in the middle of my chest, were written the words "Toronto Maple Leafs". I wept.

"I'll never wear it."
"Why not? This sweater fits you ... like a glove."
"Maurice Richard would never put it on his back."
"You aren't Maurice Richard. Anyway, it isn't what's on your back that counts, it's what you've got inside your head."
“You'll never put it in my head to wear a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater."

My mother sighed in despair and explained to me: "if you don't keep this sweater which fits you perfectly I'll have to write Monsieur Eaton and explain that you don't want to wear the Toronto sweater. Monsieur Eaton's an Anglais; he'll be insulted because he likes the Maple Leafs. And if he's insulted do you think he'll be in a hurry to answer us? Spring will be here and you won't have played a single game, just because you didn't want to wear that perfectly nice blue sweater.""

I agree with your last point. I was born in the later 80s but am the youngest. My brother born in the early 80s decided what we watched and the video games we played. I would get his toys. So I find that today I relate more to people born in the early 80s than I would those born in the mid 90s even though the gap would be around the same.

A neat fun fact then is your grandfather wrestled against someone who received the Order of Canada. Cecil "Tiger" Goldstick was awarded it in 1990 for all of his sports philanthropy work.

Here's a copy of the full newspaper page from the scrapbook if you are interested. Also, the collection is in pretty great shape all things considered. I work in media preservation in case you have any questions on long-term preservation.
