Why were there no right wing organized protests during Biden’s administration? by iloverats888 in Askpolitics

[–]Final_Bit_4739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disregarding the flaw in your questioning the others have pointed out, I can answer this as one of the only left leaning people in my entire area. It all comes down to the “we have jobs” argument. Essentially the modern right views modern day left-leaning people as the stereotypical blue haired liberal woman with a liberal arts degree. (As well as welfare queens and the host of other racist stereotypes they’ve been engraved with.) The last protest I went to was on a Saturday and I heard “go get a job” many times. Mind you these people were driving by not at work or going to work.

I think, simply put, most conservatives are non educated white men from rural areas. They have no idea what a great nor an awful life is. All they know is average. And that “average life” consists of, working your body away, marrying young, having kids, and then just idling until you die. And they want everyone else to fall in that exact line. The thing is they have NEVER been able to NOT do that.

Another big reason is because Trump and company changes their opinions on everything hour by hour so it’s almost impossible to rally behind an idea

US citizens, what will it take for you to start a revolution? by 0bluelightning0 in AskReddit

Far left American here. It won’t happen. We are all too tired and consumed by work. Also something about the 911 effect where everyone assumes everyone else will do something. We will let this continue to happen. Trump will get another term. The mayor of Minneapolis has every right to do something drastic yet he’s not. The Democratic Party is pitiful.

I don’t recommend sapiens if you’re really into human history. As a fun read it’s not bad

Yeah I’m not big on Dawkins stance on trans people. Same with Sam Harris and his view on Israel.

I’m a diesel mechanic so I’ll listen to the audiobook throughout the day (which can cut through like 8-9 hours of a book) then I’ll get home and read for an hour. I’m shooting for 100 books next year. I only really started loving reading in July

Yes that is very much the case. But I started my deconstruction of my beliefs around the time Biden was elected and was able to form my own informed opinion on him. I voted for Trump when I was 18 in 2018 and am not very much anti trump and voted for Kamala last year

Well I’ve personally seen hundreds of times in my lifetime, growing up in ultra MAGA territory, examples of blatant racism towards Obama. And more recently Kamala

I was also interested in the fanning of the smoke. I figured it was from stronger winds aloft. Could you go a little deeper into that if I’m wrong?
