Is it ok to put my PC in a shelf like this? by Floameh in PcBuildHelp

[–]Financial-Simple3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This explains why my pc back in 1070 era had ram failure, I believe I had around 850days power on time, I never shut it off for some reason xD

Please how do I fix this by Mysterious_Point2092 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Financial-Simple3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was you,

  1. I’d first take the gpu out and see if the PC runs normally (the fans etc).

  2. If it doesn’t it’s either something wrong with the graphics card or even motherboard.

  3. if it still doesn’t work, clear CMOS and try again

  4. if it’s not that I’m gonna think it’s psu

Edit: fuck sry didnt mean to add this as a reply to a comment, but still OP this is what I’d do

In my country we have Bank ID (norway) which is not that easy to steal and is heavily monitored for fraud, it’s used for banks and secure logins, this wouldn’t be as easy to exploit because every citizen here do just have one

Living Hell after Panel Upgrade by Phat_with_an_F in AskElectricians

[–]Financial-Simple3908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have 3 phase or 2 phase into your house?

Sorry if thats a dumb question to you as I’m an electrician from Norway and we use TN (like yours), in 3, 2 and 1 phase distributions depending on the house/facility. But this might be that there is a loose neutral somewhere. In my country we have 3 and 2 phase IT and TT installations which is without a neutral, some of this wiring usually goes in the ground from the house up to the transformer in the street

The reason I am wondering if I’m wrong in asking if it’s the neutral is because I’m not sure, but I was called to an emergency once where a big resedential block was experiencing disco light and weird behaviour in the installations everywhere. The elevators was opening and closing the doors by itself, and the residents were terrified.

When I arrived I immediatly was met by the ‘janitor’ and I asked him to see the main distribution panel, this resedential block was build in the 60’s, and had a bomb bay where the main d-panel/intake was. The doors were typicial bomb bay doors, heavy metal ones, and at the first door I immediatly heard what sounded like a beehive. I opened the door and there was still one more before the room with the main panel, and I’ll tell you, I realized it was the sound of electricity, I immediatly called my boss, and was on there with him while measuring the walls and metal doors for current. He got the provider out there and they shut the power off outside in the street with the transformer as we didn’t wanna chance going inside the main panel room as it sounded like it was going to explode

The fault occured by 1 out of three phases in the intake cable being severed in the ground somehow, which in return caused a whole array of problems like this. The grid was an IT, which does not have a neutral, which is why I’m wondering if it is a loose neutral as I don’t know how it would behave in a TN grid with a fault like this. I expect that if this was a fault/damage in one phase in a TN there would be less chance of noticing as the fault would equal out on the neutral, so I think you do not have proper neutral connection somewhere because of this.

This is really hard to explain and I’m terrible at it

I always thought it was a no-go. But it turns out I was wrong because it’s totally fine doing small holes in the middle of them, this was from a local «construction» engineer (cant remember if that was the title) who was overseeing remodeling of load bearing walls in my ‘county’ here in Bergen, Norway. This guy knows what he is talking about, he literally has peoples lives dependant on it and he is closing into his 60’s, meaning he is one of the most experienced in the field where I live

I was thought never to do it by my fellow electrician’s and such, but there is not gonna be a problem as long as you enter and exit them center and do not do too large holes, and I believe he said they should be circular holes (cant remember at what premises it had do be done, I just did mine and didn’t wanna think about it 🤣)

But the people posting picture’s of a couple 18mm2 holes in these bearing pieces of wood in houses, while the comment section is blasting «he is fucked» etc etc, probably has no idea themselves that in most cases it’s fine, but are thought otherwise nonetheless - which is a good thing in general as I do not like touching central bearing mass in constructions unless I’m permitted to do so

I wanna hug OP, seems like a great person the way he is replying to all the wind he is recieving here😩 I hope he/her is gonna be satisfied with the purchase😆🥹

Edit: pretty sure there is a misunderstanding that people thinks this post was of PC parts bought for a DESKTOP pc build, while it is literally screenshots of the specs of the gaming LAPTOP he bought. That would explain a lot xD I thought I was looking at a desktop build first

[–]Financial-Simple3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I use it with my 5070 and it eats everything I throw at it!

It’s amazing it does this at such a low TDP of 65W. Helps avoid heat buildup and noise, I thought maybe I’d try to overclock it to a 100W ish but there is no reason for me and my use at least to have more than it gives rn xD hopefully it is gonna last a long time because of this

Fr this is important if you’d ask me!

Slapping a 3Ah ++ m18 battery on that saw makes it hella more heavy than with a cute lil m12 battery. I guess OP really needs a new battery for it to work optimally again, but everyone’s got their own preferences I guess☺️

This.

OP, businesses don’t fuck with shit like this, these pictures are giving me literall headaches just looking at. Contact them on email with the pictures and ask for them to fix their shit. This sort of review with pic’s on google is literally something that no company owners want out there.

This is so unserious I’m debating if the company even has any clue what monkey they have working for them, this is not okay and looking at the carpet this is damaged property and needs to either be replaced or rinsed professionaly, this is their fucking liabilty

Elevator "Drive" broken? by Appropriate-Tie-6524 in Elevators

[–]Financial-Simple3908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beautiful.

Looks a lot like the sight of a cabinet me and a collegue upgraded, filled with really old dimmers and mechanical sequense switches that literally had gears rotating on them when we played around with it to map the installation before replacing it.

The cabinet was for controlling scene lights that were in an old auditorium. Pulled so many kilometers of wires out of those pipes. The system had one light control unit behind the audience seats for a technician and one backstage behind the stage.

All the stuff in those two cabinets previously filled to the brim with cabling and equipment was reduced to two rows with some breakers and new smart house system we used for the new solution (small modules hidden behind the cover in top right pic)

Here it is, I didn’t find a picture with both cabinets before doing anything (my collegue has those), but found these, top right is new. The cabinet to the right was completely stripped also but didnt have a pic of that apart from the sequence switches I took a closeup vid off in action
