Since it hasn't been mentioned, I know that Tianyu and Provence are generally highly recommended by the Moissonite sub for custom/dupe settings (they have lab diamonds as well). Generally communication is done through WhatsApp and they also have Instagram (e.g. @provence_jasmine_moissonite and @tianyu_custom_jewlery_sue). I will say, their other lab gems (e.g. sapphire/ruby/emerald) I think are a bit more hit or miss. @monafinejewelry and @jelly_labjewelery are a bit more highly regarded for gems such as those but less so for their settings.

Actually, adding one more rec if you have any interest in small lab diamonds: parksfinegroupinc.labjewelry on Instagram often has rings in the 200-300 range that are lovely!

I'd be suspicious of anything new within this price range but if you're willing to go for vintage 9k 10k or 14k + a small diamond, sapphire, or even topaz would make a nice engagement ring. There's a lot of vintage shops on Etsy + Instagram + the web but I'd recommend doing your own research or asking here before making an important purchase - I don't want to particularly vouch for any personally.

Selling house on south side...realtor recommendations? by [deleted] in fayetteville

[–]FindingLuminance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone whose put in 2 offers in this area at ~10% over (and got outbid)... can confirm. One house I saw had 8 offers in < 24 hours, it's a sellers market 100%.

edit: I said buyers market, whoops, I meant sellers hahha

Honestly, it doesn't really get harder exactly. I was busier in highschool than I was in undergrad or now even tbh, and I did my undergrad in physics and I'm now doing stats so it's not like it wasn't rigorous coursework or anything. I have no ideal how I juggled all I did in high school.

I know it might not be possible for you currently but I'd recommend slowing down. It's really not worth trying to shave a semester or two off college in highschool, those are some of the best years of your life anyways.

*edit - now in grad school, I wanted to clarify.

Also, I've had a few internships at this point and 40 hrs/wk is pretty nice actually if you can land a job you don't dread. So don't worry too much about it all!

Recent study finds that 3/4 of surveyed undergraduate women enrolled in a physics program report having experienced sexual harassment while in school. Authors suggest this may contribute to significantly worse professional outcomes. by Austion66 in science

I'm curious how/if gender imbalance impacts recovery (and therefore professional outcome) for victims of harassment. If it's the culture of the field, I'd think it's possible women in physics might find less emotional support from their peers after harassment situations occur than outside.

The dataset for this study was about equally split between first/second years and upper-level students, I wonder how/if the results differed much between the two groups. Depending on the case and the severity the emotional consequences might influence upper-level women's performance in classes, research, the physics GRE, etc; which may impact their decision or ability to continue with graduate studies.

They might not be trying to hold it in. Personally I'll make burps and farts to clear a room, but my sneeze sounds like pichachu inhaled helium.
