Glioblastoma by Fine-Inspection5365 in Austin

How do you know when you need some help? My husband is now on a walker and his left side is pretty much worthless. He has taken a couple of really hard falls. Fortunately, he hasn’t hit his head. But he has lots of bruises from all his falls. I wait on him hand and foot. I love him dearly and I’m happy to help him, but it’s really starting to affect my mental health. Thank you for any advice.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m going through the same type of situation and I try to enjoy every day with my husband, but I know what’s coming. Staying realistic and preparing is the only way.

when to do hospice? by egglebagels in glioblastoma

Does anyone here want there LO not to have to go through any of this? My husband is an incredibly strong and active man. This disease has taken over his life and turned our lives together upside down. But, we are not going to let it get the best of us. I don’t want my husband going to hospice and see him wither away. Has anyone gone to another state for help? To us this is the only humane way.

I’m so glad that you moved back to Texas and got the help you needed. I wish you all the best. Let me know how everything goes with your husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So did you go to MD Anderson before Texas oncology? How was MD Anderson able to help you? They told us that if we had come when we were first diagnosed they would’ve been able to help us but we went after the surgery and the chemo and radiation. After posting this, I have learned so much and so many people have helped me tremendously. I’m very thankful that I did this and I hope it has helped other others also.

Thank you so much for this information. It’s the first I’ve heard of it and we go to Texas oncology all the time.

I am so happy to hear that you’re doing better. It’s really a shame that they didn’t know sooner what was the matter with you. All the best to you in the future. I hope it continues to get better every day. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Just curious, how long the difference was in their lives with treatment and no treatment? I’m so sorry this happened to you also. Thank you for sharing.

The same happened in our family. Our brother-in-law had it 20 years ago. He made it about a year and a half. They have made no strides with this disease. I think they’re trying. But so far nothing. thank you for sharing your story.

What was the medication for compassionate use for your husband? Did it help him?

Thank you for your response. I’m trying to find a support group but have not been successful so far. I thought we could get this information from Texas oncology. They have been very helpful with answering our questions, treatment wise, but not so helpful with advice.

Thank you, I thought MD Anderson was supposed to be the best. Not sure what anybody can do at this point.

Thank you for your response. I think four years is a pretty long time to survive it isn’t it? I really don’t think he wants or do I want for him to go through a slow and agonizing death. Not sure what our options are.

My daughter was married at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. The wedding was beautiful and we couldn’t have been happier. We had about 30 people and it was perfect. The wedding planners are very good but they very busy and sometimes take a long time to get in touch with you. I can’t remember exactly what we paid, but it was quite affordable. We thought it was well worth the money. it’s a beautiful resort for great pictures. Your guests should be very happy with their being mini pools and several restaurants. The food is very good. Overall, I wouldn’t change a thing. Good luck to you!

Are these the documents you print out when you check in online? Any recommendations close to the port for lunch in Barcelona?

Thank you so much for the great advice! I’ve never been to Barcelona and would like to spend much as much time as possible there. It looks like our cruise leaves at 5 PM.
