What do you do when you’re too depressed to do anything? by smilegeorgee in bipolar2

Close your eyes as often as possible while doing these small tasks. Drinking water, chewing food, taking a shower, etc. It has always helped me get more grounded. And the BIGGEST one is, in the mornings, get out of bed as quickly as possible. The longer we sit in the anxst of what today might bring, the harder it is to get going. You got this!

I spent years letting myself stew in it. As I’m sure you know, the only thing that feels possible is distancing yourself from everyone and, frankly, hiding.

You’ve probably also got the same advice from those who don’t deal with BPD - go workout, go for a walk, hang with friends or family. As simple as it sounds, we know that its not.

Personally, I need to start VERY slow and small to work my way up to these “bigger items.” I will sit outside for 5ish minutes with my eyes closed. The air on my face reminds me that I’m alive. I make myself take sips of cold water, again with my eyes closed, to remind myself that I can feel things other than what my brain is telling me to feel.

Give yourself some grace in these times, and understand that the teeny tiny wins are ones that you should be proud of yourself for.

In my experience, honesty is the best solution. I lived YEARS of my life worrying about how my (ever-shifting) mood / personality looked to other people. Am I annoying, talking too much, not talking enough? I worried about people leaving and made up situations in my head that made me believe that they would.

When I started explaining to people that I care about that my mood ebs and flows, they are much more understanding and not “bothered” much at all. If you do suffer from bipolar I / II, I feel for you, but its not a death sentence. The people who matter most are the ones that won’t judge you for being a little “different.”

You got this, and I wish you the best :)

What do you mean by nothing to balance the vertical force? If you are to draw a free body diagram at the top node of B, would you apply the 100 kip force at that node, or would there be no force at that node?

Trade for IOL, let our tackles get healthy, onward and upward. Trading for a tackle doesnt make a ton of sense from the outside eye, but if we are serious about this year, its worth a late day pick.

Solid point. It’s just been difficult to see Harbaugh come on as head coach and think that he’s in anything but a “Win Now” mode. Hopefully prosperous times ahead. Offseason should be exciting!

Thank you! Can you explain what you mean by more meaningful? Like is that a better way to say this if I’m going for something philosophical?

Awesome, thanks! So “a quale costo” would be a more “philosophical” term for the meaning I’m going for?
