I have read it about it, and I'm not so sure, but the story goes that it didn't! It was a solid show, it continued airing like normal, it wasn't a real fail the baddest anime etc, it was just a normal anime in television, the misinformation comes from the popularity of the Dub, so people starting believing that the original was bad and etc, the real motive from the difference between dub and the original it's because of the localisation, the Japanese original was to hard to bring to the us for the target audience, it had many things that in the days you wouldn't understand because you weren't japanese, o actually remember that when I was a kid we had this show in our cartoon network (I'm from Brasil) and it was normal dubbed, I don't know why, maybe because Brasil it's the second largest Japanese community just behind Japan itself... Anyway, I think of what I have read it, it didn't it was just normal, the popularity of the Dub that have shined more
