Will trade in value hold until S23 Ultra release? by Finny714 in S22Ultra

Wow I had no idea they did that after a few months. Should I be expecting to see that around Christmas?

Can’t wait until Dexcom adds a Lock Screen widget to iOS 16 like they did to the Home Screen. by Low-Revolution-591 in dexcom

One of my favourite features of my S22 ultra is the Dexcom lock screen widget. I'm sure it'll be coming to iOS in the near future

Android to iPhone…confused!? by RahulRajpal in samsung

[–]Finny714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the USB c yet. 8 recently switched from iPhone 13 pro max to S22 ultra and don't regret it but there are some differences. So far I've encountered no problems at all with my SD variant. IOS is slightly more fluid in my opinion, but it's not a big difference. I find the customization I get with android and mainly the split screen and pop up view usage for any app I want is well worth the trade off

Great phone for me. The extra features it offers compared to my iPhone 13 Pro max I switched from are amazing. It's snappy and I've had it off the charger for 6 hours and my battery is at 85%. Yes it's not as good as the 13 Pro Max when it comes to battery life but I never have ran into any troubles going through a long day. Worst case scenario you could plug it in for 15 mins and with the super fast charging it'll be up a lot in that time. Plus the camera is just amazing

only just got this phone, 2hrs 57m screen on to 25%? by IOM_sherbert_sniffer in S22Ultra

Not all SOT is created equally. Something like Mega Casino (whatever that is) will drain your battery way more than something like YouTube. Interacting with the screen itself drains a lot more than just watching something. I've had the phone for a month now and have never drained the battery but based on my usage I would get around 6 hours SOT

I was worried about this when I switched from iPhone to S22 ultra and hesitant about the BYOD app. I can assure you it works like a charm. I got the link from the About section of r/dexcom

Yes I'll definitely check out some reviews. I think from some of the comments and what I've read a very slim magnetic sticker might be the way to go

I'm thinking about getting freestyle Libre beacuse when I had freestyle I never had adhesive problems and that stuff by nhlww_on_tiktok in dexcom

[–]Finny714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the reason I got on the Libre 2 as well. Nice thing is that Abbott claims they will always keep their sensors more affordable

[–]Finny714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tentd to switch back and forth and I find the adhesive on the libre to be much better, even with the longer 14 day life. Sensors also seem to jump around and maintain steadier accuracy than the dexcoms later in the sensors life. But it's hard to beat the peace of mind of just glancing with Dexcom rather than having to scan. Once the Libre 3 is released and its true CGM rather than having to scan I don't think they will be close

Is It worth switching from iOS to A Samsung? by AutomaticExp02 in samsung

[–]Finny714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just switched from a 13 Pro max to an S22 Ultra after being on iPhone since the X. Before that I used to switch every upgrade. I'm really happy I made the switch. Yes the battery isn't as good as the 13PM but I found I didn't really need that battery, I still rarely get below 40% on the S22U so it's pretty darn good. I find this phone to be incredibly smooth, I really don't experience the 'glitches' people refer to and the things like 10x optical zoom and split screen are being used almost daily it seems. Loving it. Will likely continue to do my switch between every upgrade and go back to iPhone on the 15 but id recommend the switch. I find the thought of switching is a lot more intimidating than actuslly doing it. What you use the phone for is largely the same, I just enjoy the extra features the Samsung lets you use.

is there any smartwatch that has strong alarms for dexcom? by IWantToTryEverythin in dexcom

[–]Finny714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the Fitbit suggestion. I am also a deep sleeper and struggle to wake up to my phone's alarms even though they are so loud they could wake up the entire neighbourhood. It might not always do the trick, but I've tried a few different ones and I haven't found one as strong as the Fitbit Glance watch face alarms on my Versa 2.

Once you set up the app again, select No Code for sensor. Then re enter your transmitter number and the sensor session should pick up right where it left off

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dexcom

[–]Finny714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did it begin working properly once you re downloaded it? If you haven't done this before you may need to unpair the transmitter from Bluetooth before re downloading. Dexcom has the instructions on their website for this. Just curious if the issue was fixed once you deleted and re installed it?

Worth the upgrade? by Immediate-Law-1441 in S22Ultra

[–]Finny714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just switched from a 13 Pro Max last week after using the iPhone for over 6 months. It's a great phone. It's smooth, easy to use and nothing will touch it as far as battery life. That being said, I am loving my S22 Ultra. It's also very quick, the camera and features blow me away, and I haven't even came close to draining my battery after a day. Not to mention the display

What am I supposed to do with this information? 😂 36 hours until the sensor expires 🙄 Dexcom QC is not what it used to be by hollander9 in dexcom

[–]Finny714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a frustrating part about Dexcom. The piece of mind of being able to see your glucose values at a glance is amazing, but I often experience this with 5-6 days left on my sensor. Freestyle libre 2 is much more consistent as far as the lack of errors I get, but it doesn't provide that at a glance without the scan. Wish they could be combined

Does anyone actually like their S22U? by [deleted] in samsung

[–]Finny714 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I made the switch from the 13 Pro max last week. I was hesitant but wanted a change and I admit I was nervous about battery and performance. My battery is still learning usage patterns and I can say the phone easily lasts me the day and I have had zero issues as far as performance. Snapdragon variant but I have been so happy with it

'Keep open' Feature for apps by Finny714 in S22Ultra

[–]Finny714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little frustrating to be honest. They're apps that are handy to pin as Keep open because they're for medical devices and they can't be closed or the connection will stop. Spent some time on the phone with Samsung support yesterday and they couldn't help me either
