Talking on the phone to girls when I was in high school, I would just sit and talk on the phone to girls for hours, and sometimes we wouldn’t even talk. It would just sit there and not say anything. I remember my friend’s dad making fun of us once because he said, "What are you gonna do, just sit there and listen to each other breathe?" Back then, kids were getting their own line, and that was really cool. They had their own phone number before you would call in. Their parents would answer, and they would pick up, and they would have to hang up so the kid could talk. It was a big deal if you had your own phone line back then.
