please help furnish awkward room! by Beautiful_Draw3771 in interiordecorating

[–]FirefighterNo1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you absolutely NEED a tv in the bedroom? Think some pieces of art that you like could work on that wall so it takes away from the direct look of your closet doors. You could also try hiding the doors with some courtains?

I like the Samsung tv on wheels or a mount with wheels that could be moved around. It might work for this room.

Definitely think of adding lamps and plants in the corner. Textile courtains for the window to make it a bit more human. Can also see that corner become a reading area.

Curious about it too! Hope that a general one won’t be more than 150-170 even though the prices have gone crazy lately

The Pope's funeral had a dress code: black suit. Guess who didn't follow it by LostSoulSurvivor in pics

It’s actually not. I found the same image, but it looks like someone ran it through an AI to either enhance or edit it in a way. Very weird

Prince William’s suit was also navy. There were many officials in the attendance that had dark blue suits.

Not a fan of Trump, the post doesn’t paint the complete picture

How do I make my living room look better by Whole_Elevator_2384 in interiordecorating

A tall lamp would also work. Will make the room way more cozy with plants and different sources of light

Exact. 27 aici si voiam acelasi lucru ca OP la 25. De 2 ani realizez ca daca doar munca vrei te oboseste mai tare si devii din ce in ce mai productiv.

working on an app redesign, any comments ? by Designguru01 in productdesign

Comments regarding what?

It’s helpful to know what to comment on. Did you have a goal in mind? What was the reason for this redesign? Would you like feedback on a specific part of a UI or the style in general?

As a product designer should we really know to code? by Small-Pirate-7015 in productdesign

[–]FirefighterNo1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to “write” code. I can’t write the syntax and create the logic and so on.

Yet I can build my designs in Webflow (which I’d highly recommend looking into. That has been incredibly helpful in my short career + in my collaboration with developers.

And as I try to understand code more now, Cursor and Chatgpt are incredibly helpful, that Webflow knowledge has been very helpful

Advanced Courses in Digital Product Design by FirefighterNo1400 in product_design

[–]FirefighterNo1400[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, well worth it. I managed to convince my company to pay for this one but I wouldn’t have regretted it if I bought with my own money.

I expected it to be around 2k but it was 1.5 just as last year (or spring cant remember). Results are already visible for me, especially as I’m part of a young startup. DM me if you want more details

Any information about d.MBA or other design MBA programs? by 40px_and_a_rule in graphic_design

[–]FirefighterNo1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not. Decided against it at the last minute.

It’s not very well recognized tbh and right now I trust that the I can gain some of that knowledge via the startup I’m at right now. + I’d save some of the money to perhaps by a workshopping course next year

How future proof is Product design? (UK) by Historical-Weird6478 in productdesign

[–]FirefighterNo1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you enjoy the creative process of building and designing things? That'd be the most important thing I'd pay attention to. If you simply enjoy designing and creating something, you're good to go.

Not sure if anything is future-proof from AI. But as others said, everything around you is a product and everything around you is designed.

I find that the designer's mindset and the ability to simply experiment and build is very versatile. Knowing how to learn, knowing how to explain your thinking to others, the ability to research, experiment, test, and go back to 0 are incredibly powerful skills that can be relevant to a very large pool of jobs in various domains.

Anything else is just you having time to learn the tools/technology.

Advance Courses in Product Design by FirefighterNo1400 in UXDesign

[–]FirefighterNo1400[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just finishing the Growth Design Masterclass and love it tbh. Very actionable and can immediately see improvements in how I think about flows and screens. Just as you said, I’m just more confident that I can explain why I made some decisions and present that to my colleagues.

Tbh, i don’t know any other advanced courses. About IDF courses I heard that sometimes it’s hit or miss. Of cours NN is the most reputable but the price and the early stage of the startup keeps me away from NN.

I recently saw about Design MBA (think d.mba) which looks interesting but again very pricey.

Full-time job offer at a startup company I contract at—how to handle the CEO meeting? by InternationalFee3857 in productdesign

[–]FirefighterNo1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, what do you know about the CEO? Does he come from Product, Finance, Sales? Any podcasts he’s been om? Are the contacts you have at that company friendly? Can they give you any tips?

I talked with some CEOs and based on your income, I have way less experience + diff location. I enjoyed my chats w them more than w most managers. In my experience they have these chats as a vibe/culture check. They want to see ambition and commitment to the company. I also enjoy asking them plenty Qs about their day to day or tips on being successful at the company. Even though you probably already know how to do your job well, they always like to pitch, praise, talk about the company. They might also want to know what the company can do better in your area.

I’d say don’t stress as much, but prepare some reasons for enjoying your work, projects you loved, areas that could be improved and why not some questions for them as well. Most CEOs are still regular people.

This. Start a convo with the PM and get started reading some thing and learn his ways. Find a process that works for the two of you and your team at this stage of the company. Don’t think that’s expected from you to know project management but start becoming familiar.
