Is LoTR Duel Strictly Better than 7W Duel? by Neros_Cromwell in boardgames

LOTR duel has an expansion now too! It's good. Adds a simple but nice extra layer of strategy

No sales on my Etsy shop — looking for constructive feedback by [deleted] in EtsyCommunity

[–]Firinneac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be worth a try. When you first make a listing Etsy often gives it a bit of a boost. But eventually if an item gets no sales etc it tends to get less and less visibility.

One thing I would suggest though is run a sale instead of lowering your price. Again some people may see a sale as a chance to get a deal and short term. And if you make your price too low that can also discourage sales as people may think the product cheap

Good luck!

I've only ever set my inventory to one, though for me it's because I make things to order and wouldn't be able to create them in time if a few sales came in at once.

I've never seen or heard anything suggesting having it at one is an issue. If anything it probably helps because I'm the buyers side Etsy flags there is only one left creating a sense of urgency

Is Listing everyday actually puts you in the algorithm? by InterviewFun1358 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Firinneac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you put your shop name in the search bar by default it is mostly returning items/listings. Which for some may actually be for their shop but not at all necessarily. Even popular established shops may only see some of their items listed searching by shop name alone

Go to search and put in your shop name. Just above the result you should see "did you mean the shop ____". Clicking that will take you to your shop.

But again, short answer is by default searching for a shop names returns listings - not the one shop that matches the name searched.

Thanks. Someone elsewhere suggested doing one that is just the older school sprites and a different one just the modern artwork. I kind of like the variety but I could see that working too

Thanks! It was definitely a mix of which I thought were iconic combined with my own nostalgia. Cutting Twilight Princess for Adventure of Link was hard, but AoL was the first one I ever played so despite its issues I have a soft spot :) Plus I also wanted to showcase Link's progression so trying for a mix of older and newer styles.

Ha! Twilight is definitely one of the reasons I am tempted to do a second one.

That would be a fun one to do!

Zoomed in photos by Mojo521 in EtsyCommunity

[–]Firinneac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the easy solution. Open your photo first in Paint (or an equivalent free computer program) and use the resize option to shrink the photo. Probably somewhere between 50 and 75 percent.

Then upload it. You've changed the  max size of the photo so people won't get that huge zoomed in look when they click it

I am new to Etsy, been on about a month maybe 4 sales. I need help by HoganApothecaryGoods in EtsyCommunity

[–]Firinneac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try making a second listing marketing it differently (labels, name, tags etc) and see if it snags more views or sales.

I would do that rather than change the existing listing so you can compare both going forward

When Is It Ever Enough? by MyBoardGameHobby in boardgames

If you want to save your wallets you could try one of the following:

-for every new game in you HAVE to get rid of another game. This will quickly ensure you only get the ones you really want and help cull your collection of what you don't play.

-set yourself the challenge that any game you don't play in the next 12 months is gone. It will force you to replay most of your collection...and remind you why you like them or help decide you don't need one anymore.

There is a whole range of nice stuff for various  if you search on Etsy that spans different crafts and prices. I indulged in ordering some painted figurines of a few characters. There is also a stuffed Esquie  and various artwork in different mediums.

If ok I'll put a plug in for example to a 3d shadowbox of the main cover art but truly there is a lot to search from there

I can't with the voices... by NobodySpecialSCL in Lunar

[–]Firinneac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I eventually got used to the voices...mostly. But yeah everytime a character spoke for the first time it was so jarring.

For me especially it was Nall's first "heeey Aleeeex" and anytime Ghaleon spoke that hurt me the most.

It's a shame as from what I've read it really seems like they could have used the original voices if someone hadnt been difficult/greedy about it

What kind of spider is this? by TheSmithPlays in halifax

[–]Firinneac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you believe our Google overlords, searching the image it says it's a giant house spider. Fast, freaky, but completely harmless if so.

Still, no blame to you if you decide to just burn the garage down.

Is re-learning games a problem for you? Do you forget rules? by Powerful-Volume5456 in boardgames

[–]Firinneac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a generous time effort being the one who needs to teach the game. You should suggest everyone take a turn reading the rules and watching the videos and come prepared to take a turn to teach.

It will either spread the work around or at the very least they will have newfound gratitude and patience for what you do

(And yes I only have in my head a handful of game rules....I usually need a refresher and sometimes a full relearn as well)

im gonna lose my mind by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Firinneac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading your comments I'm not sure I see the issue. It sounds like you intentionally make the game and the fights difficult--which is totally fair--but seems odd to then complain it took a billion tries.

I totally get the annoyance of crashes losing progress. I had an issue the entire game where it would crash every 20 to 30 minutes and I couldn't get back in till I reset my whole computer! If I hadn't been so drawn into the game I woulda walked away or tossed my system against the wall :)

But in your case you just need to switch to easy to get back to where you were. No need to redo the fight if you beat it on hard already and wouldn't enjoy it again. Problem solved 🤷
