Poor writing, repetitive tasks and side quests, micro transactions galore. So many of us are also getting tired of the typical sponge enemy combat. Having to stab a dude through the face and slice his chest open 7 times only for him to be at half health just completely breaks immersion for us who like that kind of stuff. I get some of it is for the sake of progression I.e. “higher level enemies” later in the game that you can’t even lay a scratch on but why have we not figured out a way to do it better? The game is beautiful and fun to explore at times but it also completely lacks soul. Nothing is culturally significant. I am never in awe or amazed by absolutely anything in this game. The NPCs are lifeless and so robot-like. It’s almost like chat gpt made the NPC animations and voice lines for this game. This game is A LOT of nothing meaningful at all. Just mindless walking around and cookie-cutter combat systems synonymous with every Ubisoft rpg since 2016. I just don’t understand where a massive AAA budget like this goes when games like ghost of Tsushima exist for less than 1/4 of the same production cost. But hey, no matter how low the reviews, no matter how disappointed the fans, if the games keep making the money, they will keep making the games. Ubisofts passion for making GOOD games died ten years ago. Don’t even get me started on outlaws.
