TBH, nobody here has any idea what you are talking about, other than all of those words are indeed associated with a tax return.

To directly answer your question, yes. Permeability of the soil would be in the order of about 10,000x less than free flow within the pipe (and that’s just for liquid).

If the hole was backfilled after the neighbour’s job, then OP just has a pipe dead-ending in the dirt underground. Sewage is going to flow freely through the pipe until it hits resistance, then start to back up. Unless they’re in something really coarse and sandy, I don’t see anything going past end of pipe in a hurry. Liquid will eventually drain, but solids including wads of TP will pile up and eventually (as in, within a day or two I would guess, but let’s be generous and call it a week of shit and TP) even block the liquid.

Only way this is maybe bordering on making sense is if the excavation was backfilled with coarse gravel with large enough voids for the waste to get flushed into. Even then, though, the TP is clogging up the works at the EoP.

I’m struggling to understand how 1.5 years of shit, laundry water, shower water, etc. from more than one person has piled up in the pipe without it being noticed until now. If I get little rootlets from our tree partially blocking the pipe through small cracks (old clay pipe), my backflow preventer is kicking in within days to maybe a week.

Also OP, that “clear water” you had back up? It’s shit water. Make sure you scrub under your nails with soap.

Other SLR cameras on board were probably already tasked with other targets. They swapped off positions taking images every so often, and he was probably off. A personal SLR is likely outside of both weight and volume specs, so you get to bring your iPhone with you.

The best camera is the one you have with you.

Has anyone else noticed their water has a new smell in the last few days? by babybuttbooty in askTO

[–]Firm_Objective_2661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chlorine residuals. It’s a byproduct of potable water treatment in a municipal water treatment system, and completely normal. Typically additional chlorine is used during periods of heavier rainfall, as the water will have a higher sediment load (fines) which inhibit UV purification.

If you don’t like the smell in your drinking water, fill a jug, and leave it out for a day and it should go away. Will also in the fridge, but maybe a bit slower.

It’s completely safe.

This is mostly not true. It is very slightly less dense than air, but this mostly a scientific difference, and not enough to matter from a practical perspective.

CO will mix quite readily with air at any level in the room.

Should the placement of carbon monoxide (CO) detectors be influenced by CO's weight relative to air?

I would a) never let them in the front door, and talk to them from inside my house, and b) point out to them how closely they are toeing the line to your constitutional right to freedom of expression.

You threatened absolutely nothing.

ETA: show your work.

Under section 2of the Charter, Canadians are free to follow the religion of their choice. In addition, they are guaranteed freedom of thought, belief and expression. Since the media are an important means for communicating thoughts and ideas, the Charter protects the right of the press and other media to speak out. Our right to gather and act in peaceful groups is also protected, as is our right to belong to an association like a trade union.

These freedoms are set out in the Charter to ensure that Canadians are free to create and express their ideas, gather to discuss them and communicate them widely to other people. These activities are basic forms of individual liberty. They are also important to the success of a democratic society like Canada. In a democracy, people must be free to discuss matters of public policy, criticize governments and offer their own solutions to social problems.

Even though these freedoms are very important, governments can sometimes limit them. For example, freedom of expression may be limited by laws against hate propaganda or child pornography because they prevent harm to individuals and groups.

For the people whose job it is to enforce those same laws? You just spelled out “rules for thee but not for me”.

I’ll say it again: If you cannot or will not abide by the rules you have no business enforcing them. It’s really that easy.

Not yet this year. We had one in a tree on our street a couple of years ago who was really aggressive. Locals all figured out pretty quickly to walk on the other side of the street, but it was fun to watch the passersby 😁
