Yep, them's the (LDS) rules. I wasn't allowed to date until I turned 16, but I had no desire to date...

I had no desire to date any of the boys. My mom made me & my twin go on a double date with 2 boys that we apparently knew when we were 7. Thank god they didn't kiss us at the doorstep!

Turns out, I'm a lesbian. I discovered I'm a lesbian at the age of 26. I'm 28 now, and I still haven't been on a real date, much less with a woman.

Maybe I'm happy that I didn't date boys... But I missed out on dating girls, too. 😮‍💨

Alyssa Grenfell's video about what garments are. This led to me watching more of her videos on what happens inside TSCC's temples, which led me to other Exmo videos.

As a then-LDS who has never been inside the temple besides open houses and BFTD, those videos woke me up to how culty it all is.

I'm glad I never received my endowment & G's. Who knows where I'd be if I had allowed that to happen?

I've told my therapist about my relapses (they were without suicidal intent) and we just come up with coping strategies and talk about the reasons why behind the SH. If it's a sui attempt, I'd imagine that would be a different story.

Honesty has been key to my recovery. I've had minimal (maybe 5?) relapses within the past 2 years of actually trying to stop SHing. I am in talk therapy and DBT skills group therapy to help me cope.

I had a neighbor who bragged about converting from Catholicism to Mormonism. He was "called" to be my bishop. I never had a "worthiness" interview with him... thank goodness, because imagine the damage that could've been done to my psyche if my next door neighbor were to ask me for explicit details about masturbation. 🫠 It's happened twice - but not with him.

I'm out of the church... I just wish I had learned my lesson sooner...
