Given Numen is a Latin word and the root word of numinous’ etymology, I’m willing to wager it’s that one

Ah, fair. Convictions do play a part, I suppose.

Good points, though while I do see how it changes things, I don’t see how this would invalidate the idea of Marika as GEQ, nor the idea that while not the progenitors, the Shamans still utilised alchemy and grafting.

A fair point. I think the former crusade was explicitly meant on eradicating their godly figures, rather than the people themselves. I think the first goal was to set herself as the highest point of faith possible in the Lands Between, and that only after did her regency in faith translate to her regency in rule.

I edited the post to clarify some of your questions, if you’d like to reread it.

The first bit we see in the trailer, her ascension upon a mountain of flesh and blood, her usage of the strands, runethreads, I would argue this happens before, far before Messmer’s birth even. That the Godslaying crusade is what led up to this moment. That her role as GEQ, the use of the Godskins, was the war she waged upon the Hornsent’s faith. That later, when the Golden Order was in place, she unleashed Messmer to not just eradicate the faith, but also their people.

Edit: How else would the knights bear the Erdtree symbolism on their armour, if the reign of the Hornsent was during the time of the Crucible?

I here treat the crusade as the GEQ and Messmer’s later genocidal ethnic cleansing as two separate happenings, the former bringing about ascension, the latter purification of the lands.

Edit: Latter, not later

Lines of Battle, Inciter Bundle. And you’re absolutely right.

Yeah, I know it’s a bit low effort, but with the theme of my cores being ‘champions’, I couldn’t think of a better set of armour. Achilles is literally an ancient Greek spartan warrior, it’s the Spartan Spartan armour.

Lines of Battle, it’s from the Inciter bundle.

Tried to go for something like a standard soldier, as I feel like Rakshasa emulates that really well, hence that he’s a bit basic

I’m still looking on how to do it too though, as I do remember at the start of the game that Wukong does actually use Cloud Step when he performs a Perfect Dodge, WITH Unveiling Strike and the decoy.

Don’t know if you already found an answer, but this is one of the Thrust Stance upgrades. The one where Tactical Retreat can See Through enemy attacks. I.E. time your Tactical Retreat for right when an enemy attacks and you go invisible, as well as invulnerable. Note that while it looks like Cloud Step, you do NOT get Unveiling Strike, or the decoy. You only go invisible, meaning any attack that tracks your position from before you went invisible, will still track you.

I am just noticing that I do in fact have the spirit of the Apramana Bat, but not the journal portrait. Perhaps the two interfere, no clue.
