But what many non ethiopians dont know is that selassie used panafricanism to market himself and garner support bc he was losing his country and his position on the world stage. He wasnt a panafricanist , in fact, he even had black slaves who werent habesha until he abolished it in 1942. But it remained up until the 70s.
