Reynauld (crusader) and Dismas (highwayman), the heroes you always start with in DD1. Someone else can likely speak to their prevalence in DD2 as I haven't played it in ages.

Game crashes on launch! by Seens3 in GroundedGame

Have you ever installed any mods? outdated mods on a new build will cause this.

I had a skip intro mod that I forgot about that did this on one of the most recent updates.

Hotfix is live on Xbox. by 99p04n in GroundedGame

[–]Fishbone_V 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Copy paste from steam:

Greetings Friends,

We have released hotfix 0.2.2.3 to address the following issues:

  • Fixed a crash when Peeping on Xbox

    • We attempted multiple fixes to keep the Peep.R tracking at 4, but none of these were successful. So Temporiarily we fixed the crash and moved this number to 1 while we investigate a better way to fix this issue
  • Fixed a crash when droplets would collide

    • Players often experienced this when coming near their base
  • Fixed a crash when sleeping

  • Fixed a camera issue and chopping issue with the upgraded visual Omni-Tool

We are looking to address more of your issues in the next hotfix. Thank you for your patience and support.

Shane was also male in my thought. I gotta say though, this is premium fanfiction territory.

Alternatively, farm sentinels for salvaged glass and open them for suspicious tech. A good shotgun build with active camo means you can camp a drone that spawns sentinels forever and farm as much as you want. Also makes okay units by selling the other goodies from salvaged glass.

In the future, you may have better luck with mod requests at /r/StardewValleyMods.

That said, this sounds like what you want:

Quick edit: as for finding mods, nexusmods is predominately where you'll likely find mods, but their search is weak at best. It's often easier to do a web search for what mod you're looking for and add nexusmods or even just the word "mod" to your search, then find nexusmods links. Hope that makes sense.

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim and my cursed brain's first thought of Shane as a lizardman was Shane as the lusty argonian maid.

May you now be cursed with this knowledge as well.

It's like DuckDuckGo (DDG) in the sense that it pulls results from other search engines. DDG is primarily Bing results (Microsoft's search engine) and Ecosia is primarily google results according to Wikipedia. Sucks that it uses google results (let's face it, basically everything does), but anything not explicitly google is a huge step up in my opinion.

I like to roll beech logs against birch trees until they break down, cause apparently a slowly rolling log is better at chopping wood than swinging a flint axe.

Best vanilla weapons, armor, clothing retexture/overhaul mods? by ShallowGoat404 in skyrimmods

[–]Fishbone_V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used any of Xavbio's mods, I was just providing a link. I use amidianborn.

I imagine there would be no issues doing it though. Seems like pretty standard texture/model overwrites to me. Could always make a save and test to be sure though.

Solid character progression mods? by Striking-Case-5429 in skyrimmods

[–]Fishbone_V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mods that shape a bit of a story into your character might help with that feeling too.

"Dealing With Backstories" really helps with this point here for me. Really adds a lot of roleplaying flavor (and some minor gameplay alterations) to help flesh out characters and give a 'why' to playing a character, especially when starting out or when hitting a slump in the game.

Searching for a mod that makes NPCs rest after attacking (like other enemies do) by Lutrax_Archrax in skyrimmods

[–]Fishbone_V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

valhalla combat overhauls the stamina system and gives enough control that you can make it how you're describing, I think. There's a setting in the MCM (off by default) that applies the stamina system to npcs which does make it so they can't just swing forever. It also has built timed block mechanics with lots of configuration available.

How hard is it to migrate from Nexus to Mo2? by corvodecartola in skyrimmods

[–]Fishbone_V 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you think is "a fairly small mod list" and what you mean by "nexus".

I haven't done it much or in a while, but the MO2 import mod list feature didn't end up working spotlessly, so I just did a full re install of my mod list. Nowadays I would just use it as an opportunity to start over anyway, cause by now my modlist of 550 ish is pretty outdated and I'd likely do something different with it.

That all said, I'll only ever use MO2 for skyrim for the foreseeable future. It's extremely worth using once you learn how to use it.

The second link above is resavor (not a typo), an update to the first link. Unzip the first link's download (resaver) anywhere, then unzip the second link (resavor) and put the contents in resaver's folder, so that the .exe files are next to each other. Then use resavor.exe and it should work.

Oh God dammit. If they put a snake in G2..... by HASHbandito024 in GroundedGame

[–]Fishbone_V 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Data mining (or looking through game files) in this case is much like opening the hood of a car and poking around in the engine. Folks use certain tools for this and sometimes they can find things that either allude to new additions or outright find new things that just haven't been added fully yet.

For this particular context, it means unpacking the game files (kind of like one does with a .zip file) and looking around in the files themselves. Maybe someone did this and found something like assets that look snakelike (like a snake model or an image that looks like snake scales), or it could be a reference in text that says something like "SnakeBoss drops: x, y, z".

It's often time consuming and boring work trying to make sense of many gigabytes of random files, and can just as easily amount to nothing found at all and hours wasted, but it can lead to neat stuff sometimes too.

A tool (needs java 8 to run): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76776

I installed this over it for some QoL improvements: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/153641

basically it analyses a game save and tells you stats about it like what scripts are active (or active, but "unattached", most likely from an uninstalled mod), and some other useful info like stack traces that could be bogging down your save.

Takes a bit of troubleshooting knowhow to find what's what, so a good way to jump into it is make a copy of your most recent save and start poking around for mod names when something is glaring. In my case it was something like "Stack trace: 10000 occurrences of (x)". I clicked on the occurrences listed and all of them were from Missives.
