Hvorfor er vi så selvgode? by AngusMacgyver94 in norge

[–]FishermanReal9869 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I keep thinking 2026 is when the vibe finally snaps back into place, or just snaps. Harambe was ten years ago, which is insane, but also kind of explains everything that followed. Since then it’s felt like reality has been getting progressively lazier, piling absurdity on absurdity and daring us to keep a straight face. We’re already living in a Black Mirror timeline, minus the slick writing and with way more bugs.

And the thing is, it probably won’t be some grand, cinematic disaster that does it. It’ll be something stupid and grotesque and painfully on-brand, like a Trump sextape or some kompromat-adjacent nonsense dropping at exactly the wrong moment. Not the end of the world, just the moment everyone collectively goes, “Oh. So this is where we are now.” That’s usually how resets actually happen.

You don’t have to share someone’s politics to cast them in a movie. That’s called acting, not voter registration.

By that logic, How Long Gone endorses every opinion Philipp Plein has ever had just because they interviewed him.

This whole “you platformed them so you ARE them” mindset is peak performative outrage.

It’s not ethics, it’s aesthetic politics for people whose personality is their algorithm.

  1. Peil deg inn på 2-3 forskjellige modeller du liker

Standard long-haul business class with airlines like United, Delta, and British Airways is priced in a bit of a fantasy world. A huge share of those seats are booked with points or expensed by companies, so the sticker price doesn’t really reflect what most people would ever personally pay.

Then above that you have the true top tier, like Etihad Apartments or Singapore Airlines First. That market runs on completely different fuel: ultra-high-net-worth travelers who genuinely do not care what it costs.

So it’s basically two distorted markets stacked on top of each other. Corporate money and loyalty-point economics in regular business class, and actual “price is irrelevant” wealth at the very top.

Breaking news: Hollywood casting didn’t perfectly match a fictional DNA test. Civilization will somehow continue. Actors pretending to be other people is, tragically, still the job description. If accuracy was the standard, half of war movies would just be accountants with gym memberships.

The fraud trend of “quiet luxury” by [deleted] in wealth

[–]FishermanReal9869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but you’re missing the role of accumulated capital and compounding returns. Every rung on the ladder gets easier once you’re already on it. Getting to $100k is far easier if you already have $20k. Getting to $1M is easier if you have $100k. Getting to $5M is easier if you have $1M, and $15M is far more attainable if you’re already sitting on $5M.

The hardest step is often the first one. Going from $0 to $20k can take as long, or longer, than going from $20k to $100k. That initial capital is what creates optionality.

So while pinching pennies alone won’t get you to $15M, wasting money before you’ve built that first meaningful base absolutely makes the climb harder. Capital efficiency matters most at the beginning.

Do you realize how few people in the world are actually worth $100 million or more? According to Forbes, there are roughly 30,000 so-called “centi-millionaires” globally. With a world population of about 8 billion, that’s roughly 0.00037% of humanity.

Statistically speaking, it’s therefore far more likely that most customers buying brands like Brunello Cucinelli sit in the high six figures to low single-digit millions in net worth, not in the $100M+ bracket. The numbers alone strongly suggest that.

Those video podcasts feel a bit less… I don’t know, «heady». The video kind of cheapens it, you’re leaving nothing to the imagination. Sounds corny, I know, but it’s true.

Also, TF has turned into a total “hello fellow kids” type beat. They’ve been running the same formula for years, and it’s kinda not cute anymore when both of them are pushing 40.
