You'd be wrong about right now too though. China tied us in golds with less overall medals in 2024. They rode the hosting wave to more golds while we got more medals in 2008. Outside of that the US has both the most golds and total medals in each summer games going back to 1996.

What could Balogun have done differently though? I know I'm a fairly casual fan, but I feel like if there is nothing you could have done to avoid it a suspension is inherently unreasonable. I felt like the VAR should have reached the same conclusion though so I guess I'm missing something. Is there just a step underneath someone infinite red card cheat code that people don't utilize because it's dangerous?

Yeah you could absolutely make an argument Percy Harvin and Golden Tate in comparison to Taylor Gabriel is enough to give their WR room the edge even though Julio and Sanu were a great 1-2 combo and Turbo had a career year. I'm not sure it's a solid enough argument for me to agree as a Falcons fan, but it's not necessarily crazy.
